Help! I am in a Reading Funk!!

Help me! I am in a serious Reading funk. I just tried to read three different books and non managed to grab me at all. Not saying they are bad books just my attention just is off. What do you recommend or suggest I read or do to break me out of this. I just added a crap load of books, plus I have tons to review and I should be so excited to dive in but it's just not there HELP!!!

  1. Take a break from reading. Watch a movie you love :)

  2. I was feeling like this months ago, and even until recently. I just got approved for the ARC: Shooting Scars by Karina Halle and before that there's the novella On every street & Sins & Needles (book 1) and to me, it's an addicting story, and the characters are addicting as well. Anyway, that's my suggestion and I know what you mean about needing to write reviews; I have a ton to still write too. Hope this helps, for whatever it's worth :)

  3. I feel for you! This happened to me three weeks ago. I DNF three books, one after the other in less than a week. I was almost in tears! The one I did manage to finish just didn't do anything for me at all.

Then I read one great book Paranormalcy by Kiersten White and since then, everything has just clicked into place.

You can also re-read a book you really love. The main thing is to stop associating reading with boredom, ennui, or other blah things! Find the magic again. I mean we all go through slumps sometimes...

  4. @Kiru I was thinking on that, maybe some Netflix

@Marissa I might check them out, the three I tried to read were ARC's from Netgalley that sound good , my mind wandered while I read them. Not saying they are bad.

I thought about reading a go to author that I love but maybe I am just not wanting to read and my mind is telling me that.

  5. @Kimberly I do want to cry because I was so excited to settle down with a book and it's not working. I finished a book earlier this week and I loved it, took a couple days off now I am in a funk. I am like WTH is going on!!!

I have Paranormalcy on my Kindle just got it in fact maybe I might try that or your right go to an old favorite..

That's the thing I felt bored and I never feel that way and that upsets me so badly.

  7. I was in a reading funk last month but the J D Robb series pulled me out of it. You could also try reading a funny book that helps me sometimes. You could try Jeaniene Frost Night Huntress series, Chloe Neill Chicagoland Vampire series, Stacia Kanes Downside Ghost's series, Ilona Andrew's Kate Daniels series, Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson series or Karen Marie Moning Fever series these are a must buy and my rereads. Hopefully one of these will help you get rid of the dreaded reading funk.

  8. Two books that solved this for me this year so far include Kim Harrison's Ever After and Laurell K. Hamilton's Affliction. I really enjoyed them and they definitely got my reading juices flowing :)
