Review: Oh my goodness! This was one sexy, erotic, pornographic, wild read let me tell you! I won’t re-summarize the book for you since the concept description is pretty accurate but some things need some elaboration. Jane plays a strong woman, who is a dumb virgin. She has very contradictory personality traits. Then again, so does Nicholas. So it’s very difficult to completely fall in love, or to completely hate many of these characters. There are some cliché easy to hate characters as well, but it’s fun to hate them. Then there’s the adorable younger and needs to be protected clichéd sister that you of course love. Yes, it is fun to love her too. I found myself being tossed around from one emotion to the other as far as characters go, but I didn’t mind it. There are some absolute naughty sex scenes in here, and naughty in a well, naughty way. It is NOT for the faint of heart that is for sure and I’ll betcha there are a hand full of reviews that will not like the book because of the raunchy and sometimes gratuitous sex. For me though, everything fit in well and I enjoyed it for what it was. In it’s genre, I think it was really well written with a really good story. I will absolutely be getting, reading and reviewing the rest of the books in this series and find out what happens to the naughty but oh so sexy Satyr brothers.

What I disliked: Some of the sex scenes were not my cup of tea, specifically the incestuous ones but, I suppose these were done well in line with the events of the story so I’m not taking off much for that. I had a difficult time with the female lead character. She was virgin, hiding a paranormal secret and was protecting her beloved sister. She was strong in that she had to undergo a series of events but I found her to be one of the most obnoxious female characters I have ever read about. For that, I have to take off some points. I would have preferred for the author to write her character so that I would fall in love with her.

What I liked: This is a historical uber erotic paranormal romance. I really appreciated the uniqueness of this story from a lot of different areas, one of them being historical and about a winery and some of the hard work that goes into the running of one. Some of the historical facts were really interesting and I actually checked them out on the internet after I read the book and they were accurate. I love it when I can learn from reading dirty books.

Review:

After reading both books back to back I must say, S.J. must write faster, just kidding but January is too far away to know what happens next. I haven't decided how I feel about Alex I feel like I'm on a roller coaster ride when it comes to him. I also find myself rooting for Michael the further we divulge into this series. But its these cliffhangers that is driving me nuts.

Can you tell I loved the second book in this three book series. Just a little bit huh. It just might be my favorite out of this series. This book was a nice continuation into the series and I can't wait to read book three, Vampire's Redemption coming out in January 2012, doesn't that seem so far away.

I highly suggest you read this series, its just three books and well worth it, this book can be read as a stand alone.

I rubbed my hands together and shot him a grateful look, “Thank you.”

“For what? Accosting you in the middle of the road during the season’s first snow?” There was a terribly charming gleam in his light blue eyes.

“No. For stopping before you got carried away.” He had opened the driver’s door and was watching me carefully.

Suddenly nervous, I stammered, “Not that you were the only one who was feeling aroused.”

One corner of his incredible mouth quirked up in amusement. He seemed to be genuinely pleased to

have turned me into a bumbling idiot. Jerk. I huffed and threw
myself into the driver’s seat. Without another word, he went to the other side and got in. As I was trying to make a U-turn on the road, I felt his gaze going over me.

Having anyone look at me in that way made me crazy. With him, the feeling was multiplied a thousand times. Having turned the truck around successfully, I decided to take a different approach. I
could be direct when the situation called for it. Whenever I was feeling embarrassed, that was how I could keep things under control.

“Tell me something.” I snapped. “Exactly how old are you?” I kept my eyes on the road. The snow was coming down steadily. Big, fluffy frozen sparks of light where the headlights shone on them in the darkness.

“As a human, I was born in a small Greek village in 1659. So, technically, I’m over three hundred and fifty years old.” He said it in a light tone, and I dared to look over at him.

“How old were you when you were turned into a vampire?”

“Twenty-seven years old.”

I waited for more information, but he said nothing else about being turned. Frustrated with the lack of pertinent facts about him, I gritted my teeth. Being mysterious might have taken him a long way with many women, but not with me. I still wanted answers.

“Can all vampires be out in the daylight? I thought it burned them or something.” I couldn’t seem to keep the sarcastic, bitchy edge toned down. It didn’t matter. Michael wasn’t offended in the least.

“Some of us are capable of doing so, but it is a very uncomfortable situation to be in. Some vampires are able to use crystals to ward off the pain.” He reached into one of the pockets of his coat and drew out a small red stone, “Victoria gave me this before she left. It came in quite handy the day you were

attacked.”

Attacked. Right. I sighed and made the turn into the driveway. The tires crunched over the gravel, like bones being crushed beneath us. I didn’t want to think about Alex, but his face kept flashing back to me. His shining golden hair, his charming smile, the way he made me completely helpless after we’d made love. I hated remembering it all, because at the end, he was looking at me with my blood smeared across his face, and I was lying prone on the stained sheets with my life draining away.

Fighting the urge to shiver, I parked the truck back by the garage and looked over at Michael. His dark eyebrows were creased in an expression that conveyed intense concentration. I placed a hand on his arm.

“Sorry for snapping at you.”

He waved a hand at me in dismissal, “Your temper is good to see. I’d rather have you screaming at me than pale and motionless on a bed.”

The first one, One Grave at a Time by Jeaniene Frost, is the 6th book in the Night Huntress Series. I cannot wait to get more of Cat and Bones. I don't need to say anything other than Cat and Bones. You know what I mean.

The next book I will be getting, is Succubus Revealed by Richelle Mead, the 6th book in the Georgina Kincaid series. Richelle has been busy. She has another book coming out this month that I must get but that's for next week's posting. :) Which by then, I will already have the book. I know you know what I'm talking about right? Anyway, those are my two cannot wait gotta have it now selections!

So what has everyone been up to? I have been sort of AWOL around here. I actually started 2 new temporary jobs and then started to recover from working those (recover with other work and my household duties) when I got hired for a third and hopefully permanent job. YEEEEE HAWWWWW!!!! It's almost a perfect job for me. I'm so very excited about it. I started the Tuesday after Labor Day but for now, I will be babysitting my girlfriends two kidlets. I'll be gone from home for 2 weeks and staying at her house. I hope I have some time during those two weeks to get caught up on all my computer stuff. It's been very frustrating for me.

So now on to today's meme.

I am reading an absolute page turner in every sense of that term. I seriously am having a hard time putting this book down.

It's called "When the Wind Blows" by James Patterson which is the .5 book in the Maximum Ride series. I am not a huge Patterson fan. I mean, I've read his books before and they are alright. Not really in my romance genre but dayum, this book is freaken AWESOME! I think anyway. The reviews are mixed. If you have a literary brain, it may not be your thing but if you just like to sit down and enjoy a book, then get this one. I'm so glad I picked it up and I will be getting more and more into this series.

Review:

I really regret not reading this book sooner, after thoroughly enjoying The Trouble With Spells book so much. I read this book literally in just a few hours I was so entranced by Vance and Portia all over again. I may have mentioned this before but I do have to say it again so forgive me but Lacey writes some killer kissing scenes.

This book picks up where we left off, Vance disappearing and Portia sets off with her friends to go find him and that is where action begins. Can I just say I am more in love with Vance if that is possible than I was in the first book. And Portia, what a tough cookie she is. I could ramble all night about how awesome this book is but I think you should find out for yourselves. Pick up this book and if you haven't read the first that's okay you can read this book and not be lost at all. But I do suggest reading The Trouble with Spells too.

And lastly lucky I am moving on to Book 3 now or I would be screaming at my pc screen in how this book ended. Talk about shock factor!!
