I have to admit I never used to be fan of Horror Movies, I would cover my eyes at the crazy insanely scary parts but a few years ago I was living with my sister in law and she is a huge fan of Horror movies. So while I still hide my eyes now sometimes, not at the real cheesy kind but the true freak out scary kind I do enjoy them now.
Here is a couple that totally scared me when I was younger, not so much now but.....
Cujo
Carrie
That is just a couple, So do you like Horror movies or do they scare your or do you think they are cheesy? If you like them what is your favorite? Which one scared you? Remember all comments are counted towards extra entries.

I love them all and always have. I grew up watching them all (Stephen King, Friday the 13th, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm St, more recently Saw). My 17 yr old niece and I love watching them and laughing throughout them.
I find horror movies rather cheesy. They just never do anything for me.

I can't watch horror movies and the one that probably freaked me out the most The Exorcist.

I love horror movies. I think they're best watched late at night, although then you usually end up jumping at every noise and shadow afterwards, lol.
I think anything my Stephen King is golden--especially the older movies. Hello IT still has me weary of clowns and anything supernatural. Jeepers Creepers, anyone?

Scary movies are my favourite to watch especially if they are ghost stories based on true events. I'm not a fan of gory, gruesome ones too. I want a good old-fashioned scare. The 1980s had good ones, Poltergiest, The Shining, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Candyman.

I can't and won't watch Horror movies anymore. I end up having nightmares about them for days which scares me on top of the Horror movies themselves. The movies It, The Shining and Nightmare on Elm Street did me in. :)

I agree, they are cheesy but seriously, during the month of October I always go back and watch the cheesy older movies.. Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream movies, etc.. I just love them.. October is by far the best month there is, I love Halloween.. It's so much fun to get scared.. =)
My favorite would have to be the Scream movies.. But I was VERY disappointed in the last Scream movie (Scream 4) just wasn't as good as the other one's...

I am not a fan at all. My husband watches them (in the dark of course), but they give me nightmares. I have to watch a children's movie/cartoon after watching them with him so I can hopefully not have nightmares. The Ring was HORRIBLE.

I'm not a fan of the really gory ones. I really like the first Fright Night movie with William Ragsdale and Roddy McDowell. The remake with Colin Farrel wasn't bad, but could have been a touch scarier. I must say, I have never seen Colin Ferrel looking finer than he did in that movie. I don't get the grunge look he and Brad Pitt have going when they're not in a film.

I'm also not a fan of the super gory ones like the Saw franchise. However, I like do like some horror movies such as some Japanese/Korean ones. They have the truly creepy horror movies.

I do like them. But Ive discovered they arent really quite the same now with all the special effects that can be done. The ones that scared me the most were The Exorcist and the original Omen. The Omen remake wasnt nearly as scarey.

@Rachel, I loved IT and Jeepers Creepers unfortunately now I'm afraid of big, rusty trucks, road trips, and looking into or cleaning out the drain! Come to think of it, I don’t think my boyfriend has seen Jeepers Creepers. I’m definitely going to get it so we can watch together. I have the Blockbuster Movie Pass so I’m pretty sure I can get it through their 20 movies channels, their mail service, or their streaming. I don’t know a lot about it (though I work at DISH) and haven’t really had a chance to mess with it but I’m sure I’ll figure it out. Thankfully my boyfriend doesn’t scare easy so he’ll help keep me from being paranoid about the noises at night.
No thank you...I will leave the horror movies to my teenage daughter who has loved them for years!!!

I cannot say I am crazy about the hand out of the grave Carrie type movies, but I am watching the Stand again in honor of the season and it has just dawned on me that it may have been one of the first dystopian books before dystopian was a buzz word :)
