Juggling, school, rent and bills seems like all too much for Liz. Her dream car is just that, a DREAM! Why did her life have to be so, so hard? Her job on campus does not help the situation much either. What is she to do?

Should she find herself a man who provides money or other favors in exchange for sexual relations to ease her burdens? Should she go get herself a Sugar Daddy that will spoil her rotten?

Review:
Anyone ever wonder what it would be like if they had a sugar daddy, well here you go. I don't know about you but I thought about it a time or two(not seriously though). Here we have Liz, struggling to make ends meet while going to college. Her friend, Suzie suggests she try a sugar daddy then her all her troubles will just go away.

That's where all her troubles begin, she ends up juggling three guys. My first impression of these three guys were that I didn't like Joey at first, I liked Mike and Alec, to be honest wasn't in the book long enough to make an impression.

This book was a quick, hot, read. I enjoyed this book, for all its hotness as well as its storyline. Even though I was surprised at the ending, the author tied up the story pretty neatly.

Warning, if you don't like a lot of sexual situations in your books then this isn't for you. But if you are looking for just a hot read with a good story behind it then give this a book a try.

Book Two of the Stacy Justice Series has more magic, more mystery and more twists and turns than your average amusement park.

A long-lost sister.
A missing mother.
And murder.

All Stacy Justice wants to do is recover from the bizarre couple of weeks she's had--a whirlwind kicked off by the arson attack on her cousin's bar, the Black Opal. But just when life should be settling down, a fourteen-year-old girl named Ivy appears on Stacy's doorstep, claiming to be her sister. Ivy says their mother's life is in danger and insists that the family's magic is crucial to saving her. Sure, Ivy has Stacy's fiery red hair and green eyes--but is she really her sister? And can the secretive teen be trusted with magic?

Then a man is found dead at Stacy's grandmother's bed-and-breakfast, and she has no choice but to see where Ivy's story leads. Strange warnings appear at every turn, including the disappearance of the family's Blessed Book, and it seems someone is out to kill Stacy--again.

Picking up where Opal Fire left off, the second book in the spellbinding Stacy Justice series dazzles with even more magic, mystery, and mayhem--revealing the dark secrets of the Geraghty clan.

Author's Note: It is highly recommended that you read the first book in the series, OPAL FIRE before reading BLOODSTONE.

OPAL FIRE, Stacy Justice Book One. How far would you go to keep a secret?
BLOODSTONE, Stacy Justice Book Two. What if your whole life was a lie?
TIGER'S EYE, Stacy Justice Book Three. This time, it's personal. December 2012

Review:
I just knew when I finished the first book I knew I would love this one just as much as the first. And I was right. It was action packed from the get go and where we were left hanging at the end of book 1, those questions were answered, though we had a wild, crazy ride to get there. I have to be honest I was a bit disappointed with one of the answers. But I still loved this book anyway.

As for the characters, well you all know I just love Stacy, I think even more so in this book, she is so much fun, sarcastic, and knows how to kick butt when needed. But I have to say the winning character this time is Ivy, she is hilarious, typical(okay maybe not so typical)teenager, who shows up at Stacy's door claiming to be her sister. Then there is the rest of the characters, Monique, still the same bitchy self though, I have to admit I did feel a bit sorry for her in this book. You also get to see more of Chance (YAY). Can you tell he was my favorite from book 1. Leo, not as much but it is always funny when you see him and Chance together.

Enough on the characters I might be here all night and you might get bored with this review if I keep rambling on. Overall, this book was incredible though it did end in another cliffhanger.Which leaves me frustrated  because this time I got to wait til December to find out what happens. I am not sure I can wait that long for Tiger's Eye.

If you haven't read this series, please do! You don't know what you're missing.

Stacy Justice is just your average green-eyed, redheaded, twenty-something witch who would rather focus on her job as a reporter than practice the crazy magic her grandmother and great-aunts are into. She's perfectly content to spend her free time hanging with her cop boyfriend and her gassy Great Dane and helping her cousin Cinnamon run the Black Opal bar. But when the Opal goes up in flames, Stacy may need that magic after all.

The blaze was arson--and Cinnamon is the prime suspect. Determined to clear her cousin's name, Stacy digs deep into the crime and makes a shocking discovery amid the rubble. It's clear someone wants her dead--and she'll have to dodge everything from angry motorists to exploding chickens to survive. It's time to dust off her so-called magic skills. But will they be there when she needs them?

With its strong, sexy heroine and her razor-sharp wit, and its collection of eccentric small-town characters, Opal Fire introduces a bewitching new mystery series.

Review:
This book is one of many reasons why I love my Kindle. I had been eyeing this book for awhile, so when it was free I snagged it and now I am so glad I did. Where to begin, I loved this book so much. I just finished it tonight, reading it in one sitting.

I love Stacy and her cousin, Cinnamon they are such a great pair. Her whole family I loved especially her grandmother and aunts they were such fun and unique characters. Mario not quite sure how I feel about him. The men in Stacey's life, I think I am kind of leaning towards Chance, though by the end Leo warmed up to me more.

The story was such fun to read, I didn't miss the romance that I am usually craving in the books I read. I seriously thought I figured it out and the author threw another twist at me I did not expect.

If you haven't read this book, I highly recommend it, you don't know what your missing if you don't. In fact, I am reading the second book just as soon as I finish with this review because she left me hanging and that can't happen. I just have to know what happens next.

Skolthan: Witches, magic and mystery

Be prepared for a terrifying tale of evil and witchcraft.

From the primitive cottage where she lives a hermit-like existence, Hilda can reach a tidal island which gives her access to a beautiful world, a fragment of the one-time Garden of Eden.

She is almost unique in possessing the gift to pass through to this other world, but her gift puts her in danger from sinister forces that wish to use the island’s power to secure their own domination.

In a bid to rescue a mother and her unborn child, the intended victims of a horrific ritual with cosmic implications, Hilda and her friends must outwit a charismatic warlock (Hilda’s former husband) and the arch-witch Alice, embodiment of evil, who masquerades as a midwife.

Their mission culminates in an act which threatens to tip them over the edge into the same evil world which they are so anxious to destroy. Nonetheless, good prevails, but at a terrible price …

Review:
This premise had me intrigued, after all, its about witches. I love witches, though I have to admit I haven't read that many books with them as the main characters. That being said, I wanted to like this book, but I struggled with it.

The book is written in first person and I know how hard it is to write in that POV. But I just didn't seem to connect with Hilda, like I should have. It lacked emotional attachment, maybe that is what it was supposed to be. I am not sure. But all the characters felt a little stiff to me.

The story-line started off slow then picked up a little bit about midway through the book. And though I didn't seem to connect with the characters, the story moved pretty decent after that which is what kept me reading.

What I liked, was once Hilda turned for help, the group banned together to fight or help against the evil. And the fact she still remained a champion for Camila.

I do think this book has potential. I may not have cared for it as much as I would have liked too, but that doesn't mean this won't be for you. So if you love Witches, magic and all the rituals that go with it then this book is for you.

It’s the holiday season and Josie is definitely feeling the strain. From unexpected (and not necessarily welcome) house guests to the demanding clients of her new wedding consultancy, her plate isn’t just full—it’s overflowing.

Adding to the pressure is the tension between the vampire government, Weres and her pointy-toothed love, Walker. Will a string of suspicious teen murders and disturbing secrets from Walker’s past conspire to ruin their love? Or will Josie and Walker rise above such petty concerns and keep fighting, together?

Review:
It's been awhile since I read the first two in this fun series, but it didn't take me long to fall back into Josie's life with this book. I thought briefly that I might have to reread the first two so I could remember everything, but I am happy to say I didn't have too. Though I might do it just to read more of this great series.

This book is such a quick fun read, I am not sure what else I could say about it Other than I loved it. Okay I will give it a try starting with  Josie, oh how I missed her. She is so much fun and so funny. In this installment, she has gotten her Wedding planning service up and running, and the clients she has to deal with lets just say I am so glad I'm not her. But while she is busy trying to get a client's wedding planned, she finds out that she get's to meet Walker's parents plus to add to the craziness her own mother wants to visit for the holidays. What a crazy mess poor Josie has to deal with.

All my favorite characters are back, Walker(did I mention just how much I love him), Grady(please I hope he gets his own book), Shep, Harry and Sandy. As well as three new characters, Ned, Grace and Betty.

This book was a crazy bunch of goodness wrapped in a short story. There were twists which I hadn't expected as well as the cliffhanger, well a slight one anyway. Enough to drive me nuts with what is going to happen.

If you are looking for a dark read then this book isn't for you but if you like a quick fun light read then I urge you to check this series out.

The Mayans aren’t the only ones with a 2012 prophecy…

Long before recorded history, there was a Keetoowah warrior so feared that everyone trembled before his wrath. Only a brutal betrayal by the one closest to him could defeat him. But not even death was the end of a man so strong.

The Time Untime approaches…

Kateri Avani has been plagued her entire life with dreams she doesn’t understand. Images of places she’s never been and of a man she’s never seen. Her quest for answers has driven her to Las Vegas where she hopes to finally silence the demons in her mind.

What she never anticipates is coming face to face with the warrior who has haunted her her entire life. One who belongs to a world the scientist in her refuses to believe is real.

Ren Waya came back from the dead to keep the prophecy he began from coming true and ending the world. For thousands of years, he has fought the same evil that once possessed him. But now that evil has found the one person he can’t fight. The one person who, against his will, holds the most sacred part of him.

His heart.

But if he doesn’t kill Kateri, the deadliest of evils will reemerge and destroy everyone else on the planet. It was a sacrifice he made once.

Will he be able to make it again?

Review:
As many of you know I have practically been waiting on pins and needles for this book, It didn't seem like August was going to get here and then I bantered back and forth whether I should get it now or wait. When I found out my favorite character in this universe was going to play a good part in this book. Well you know I jumped and clicked buy.

I dove into this book almost immediately(had to wait for my Kindle to charge)But once I did I devoured this book in once setting. I should slow down and enjoy all that is good with Sherrilyn's books but I just can't help it.

Where to begin that is a great question? Well I guess I could start by saying, while I did like this book, after all it is Sherrilyn, this one wasn't my favorite. Not sure if its because there was just so much going on with the Mythology or I read it too fast and didn't let it all soak in. It might have been a combination of both. I honestly don't know.

What it did have is characters I love, Kateri is so much fun, sarcastic and not afraid to stand up for what she believes in (meaning Ren). Ren, he has issues and my heart broke for him. I had no idea his story was so sad. And of course I nearly squealed with delight over the fact Acheron was in this one a bit more than the last book. As well as Talon, Urian(I love him too, he is so damned funny), Sasha(my fave wolf) and a couple others. Maybe just maybe I miss the characters from New Orleans that could have been my major issue, not the book's fault that is mine alone.

But other than that, it was full of action, drama and I laughed and cried, which is typical for me when I read one of her books. Overall, though this wasn't my favorite. I still liked it and hope this series continues on forever. Now I have wait another year for the next book, which will be Styxx's book (I so can't wait for this one.!) I might have to do another reread of this series to help pass the time.

Book 3 in the Immortalis Vampire Series.

After a few months as a vampire, Alyssa thought she'd learned all she needed to know about the supernatural world. But her confidence is shattered by the delivery of a mysterious package - a Pandora's Box.

Seemingly innocuous, the box is in reality an ancient prison, generated by a magic more powerful than anyone in her clan has ever known. But what manner of evil could need such force to contain it?

When the box is opened, the sinister creature within is released, and only supernatural blood will satiate its thirst. The clan soon learns how it feels when the hunter becomes the hunted.

Powerless against the ancient evil, the clan flees Las Vegas for Boston, with only a slim hope for salvation. Could Lysander's old journals hold the key? And what if they don't?

And how welcome will they be in a city run by a whole different kind of supernatural being?

Werewolves...

Other Novels in the Immortalis series:
Immortalis Carpe Noctem (Book 1)
Hunters & Prey (Book 2)
Pandora's Box (Book 3)

Review:
Can I tell you just how much I love this series, well I am going to say it over and over again until either you get tired and stop reading this review or buy this series.

Honestly I didn't think it could get any better but it has. This is book 3 in the Immortalis series and it just gets crazy from the very start. Katie starts by throwing me for a total loop and had me screaming at my Kindle 'NOOOOO"! I couldn't believe she went there but she did. I can't say what but it had me crying at the beginning mind you.

After I got over that shock, we are taken to Boston to try and find a way to defeat the creature that was unleashed. This is where we meet the werewolves. 'Sigh' they are quickly becoming a new favorite of mine. No I won't stop reading vampires, just saying these hot and sexy weres found a place in my heart.

We had sweet moments with Lysander and Alyssa but not too much romance in this one, but it didn't bother me I was too engrossed in the story. But I do say she did it again! I thought the first shock was bad enough but this one really threw me. I wish I could say what it was, but lets just say I don't know whether to be angry, sad or both! I am still stunned as I write this so this might be just a ramble and for that I am sorry.

If you haven't read this series, please do! I know I am immediately moving on to Soulstone, the 4th book in this series because I just have to know what happens next. Looks like another sleepless night for me.

Amy is the ultimate trophy girl—gorgeous face, killer body, and a vivacious personality. But there’s something else about her, something that makes her even more special. Amy is new. A transfer student from out of state, she’s starting her senior year without knowing a soul. And that means she’s up for grabs, available.

Infatuated from the moment he sees her, David is determined to meet Amy, and if the fates are willing, to spend the rest of his life with her. But his shyness prevents him from approaching her—until his friends devise a contest to determine who will be the first to prove their manhood by seducing her.

Review:
What I found very interesting about this book was it was told in a guy's point of view. If you always wanted to know what a teen boy is thinking, well here you go.

David has a crush on the new girl and would give anything to ask her out but the problem is he is too shy too. Then there is his friends who really just want to see if they can get a homerun with her. At this point I felt sorry for both David and Amy.

As for Amy, you don't really find out too much about her until middle towards the end of the book, but I could definitely relate to her. Her story reminded me so much about myself growing up and having to move all the time. It's so hard.

Though this book ended a way that I did not expect, overall it was very entertaining and I did not want it to end. I wanted to know more. The author did a wonderful job in making these characters believable and telling a good tale.

Before you embark on your erotic tour of Transylvania, the Eternal Love Corporation has put together this helpful guide to answer some of the most common questions about vampire sex tourism.

Topics include:

- What if my vampire bites me?

- Shouldn't this tour be in Forks, Washington?

- Why can't my vampire get an erection?

And many more!

Review:
This book was such a fun, quick actually no it was an hilarious read. I hadn't laughed this hard with a book in a long time. The book is formatted in questions and answers, each answer gets funnier as you turn the pages.

Yes it pokes fun at vampire romance lovers such as I, but it didn't bother me at all. I loved it so much. At first I thought I wanted to the erotic tour being talked about in this book, until I read on. I think I will skip this one. I rather have my dream vampire thank you very much.

Now some of it could be taken as offensive, but if you take this book as it's meant to be then you will enjoy it like I did.

The exciting sequel to Immortalis Carpe Noctem.

Rule number one: humans and vampires don't co-exist. One is the hunter and one is the prey. Simple, right? Not for newly-turned vampire Alyssa. A surprise confrontation with Santino Vitale, the Acta Sanctorum's most fearsome hunter, sends her fleeing back to the world she once knew, and Fallon, the human friend she's missed more than anything. Now she has some explaining to do. However, that will have to wait. With the Acta Sanctorum hot on their heels, staying alive is more important than educating a human on the finer points of bloodlust.

Review:
The problem with sequels, they sometimes don't live up to the first books excitement or vice versa they are better than the first. What I found with this book is that, it is just as good if not better. It picks up where we left off in the first book. Alyssa, still adjusting to life as a vampire when Santino, the hunter chases her back to her old world. That is one thing she is still having trouble with letting go.

Again I could feel the confusion this character is experiencing through out this book, and her stubbornness as well as her potential for trouble finding her is what draws me to a character like Alyssa.

What can I say about Lysander, you already know how much I love him. I felt sorry for him a bit in this one with all the trouble Alyssa was getting into. As for all the other characters they are back, I love Drew and Nicholas(though he is a bit rough around the edges),Crystal and Rozaline as well as Alyssa's Best friend and only human, Fallon. I love the whole cast of characters, they mesh so well together.

This book was a fun ride and left me craving for more, I can't wait to read Pandora's Box and then Soulstone. I am just hoping there will be more after that. I just can't get enough of this series. It's definitely feeding my series addiction.

Becoming a vampire is easy. Living with the condition...that's the hard part.

Rescued from a brutal mugging on the college campus of UNLV, 25 year old Alyssa is initiated into a frightening, eternally dark world she never knew existed. The world of the vampire.

Stricken with cravings of blood, and forced leave behind all she knew, Alyssa struggles with the change. And Lysander, her sexy but aloof sire, is the only one who can help guide her.

There's no turning back now. It's either, Carpe Noctem, or final death.

Review:
I read a couple of Katie Salida's books before and fell in love with her style of writing, so I knew I had to get this series. She didn't disappoint, in fact I think I became even more of a fan of hers.

The story draws you in from the very first page and doesn't let go until the very last page. The fact its written in first person is even better, yes you read this right I actually am becoming a fan of first person. What, at least to me is unique, is that you get to experience what its like to be turned and what happens and how the changes effect Alyssa.

I felt every emotion Alyssa felt, from confusion, to anger to finally acceptance. She is a tough, subborn but yet still vulnerable vampire. Lysander, oh how I love him, he is all I want in a vampire, broody, stern but you do eventually get to see his vulnerable side as well. If I had a maker he would be the perfect one to have.

Would I recommend this book? Yes, without a doubt, if you love vampires and wondered what it's like to be a newborn vampire, combined with action, and romance. This book is for you. I already read the second book and can't wait to dive into the 3rd. One thing I hope is that, this series continues on for a long time.

Perversely, once her life alters, he misses her like hell. In one sweet night of loving everything changes. But, due to an overabundance of nightcaps, she doesn’t remember the night he can’t forget

Review:
Here is another author I haven't heard of before until I bought my Kindle. I have to say I haven't read too many angel books which is surprising in itself really considering how much I love the paranormal. But let me say I am glad I pushed the buy button on this one.

Annie, who's life seems to be going nowhere then all of a sudden a guardian angel pops into her life literally to help her straighten or at least give her the courage to make some changes in her life. Tyler, her best buddy doesn't like the changes he is seeing. He wants his ole Annie back.

I really loved these characters, it was written so well I could connect with them almost immediately. Annie, she breaks out of her shell and makes the changes only to find maybe they weren't what she really wanted after all. Tyler, oh how I love him, though he didn't like what he saw from Annie he tried his might to support her.

There was a couple unexpected twists which I didn't see coming but that just made it better in my opinion. Overall this was a fun ride and I hope to continue it with the next book.

Review:
Most of you know I have been trying to branch out of my comfort zone and try new genres and this book was one that is totally out of my realm. It is a mystery/thriller and the premise had me intrigued.

I did like this book, though I do have one issue, and that is the switching of characters views. I really don't mind one or two but this was the all the characters. Though I can see what the author was trying to do, for me it was a bit much. And while all the subplots did eventually connect with the main plot, I struggled a bit with all the characters and their own story to get to what and why things were happening.

Once I got past my initial issue, the story flowed pretty well and I found myself rooting for the main character, really how much bad luck can one person have? The female characters kind of ticked me off, all for the exception of two, Edna and Maria, both who were the only two that weren't out to get something from the good ole doctor.

After reading this, I found its nice to to branch out of your comfort zone, it was a refreshing change of pace of what I am used too and maybe just maybe I have a new genre to like.

Once, Sarah Bingham's biggest challenge was making her students pay attention in class. Now, after rescuing a wounded stranger, she's landed in the middle of a battle between corrupt vampires and powerful immortals who also need blood to survive. Roland Warbrook is the most compelling man Sarah has ever laid hands on. But his desire for her is mingled with a hunger he can barely control. . .

In his nine centuries of immortal existence, no woman has tempted Roland as much as Sarah. But asking her to love him is impossible--when it means forfeiting the world she's always known, and the life he would do anything to protect. . .

Review:
I have had this book sitting and waiting for a long time, not sure why I waited so long to read it but I could kick myself for not reading it sooner. This book was amazing, though it did remind me of a certain other series that I love so much but that didn't bother me in the least.

I found the story enjoyable as well as the characters, though who can never get enough of sexy immortals. My problem is who is my favorite. I love Roland, but then there is Marcus and Seth as well as David, oh and I can't forget Bastien. So many to choose from. Sorry got a bit off track.

Now what was I talking about. Oh yea, the characters, Roland, broody and antisocial, until he meets Sarah, who turns his world completely upside down. I really love Sarah, to me she felt really human and the writer did a wonderful job in not making her too whiny but just right. She is strong but scared at the same time. And who can blame her she was thrown into a world that she never knew existed.

What I did like was the uniqueness with how vampires and immortals were made. It's hard to find a unique premise to the vampire lore and this one had at that for me at least.

Overall this book was a delight to read, it had action, romance, steamy smex, drama and funny moments. I would definitely recommend to anyone that loves what I mentioned above. I will definitely be continuing on in this series.

Dark Night of the Moon will take you on an unforgettable journey of war, violence, overwhelming grief, and finally, love.

Review:
Oh how I waited for this book, since reading Holding on to Heaven, I have wanted to see where these characters were going to go. So many questions that needed to be answered and finally were in this book. I had no qualms about whether I was going to like it, its Keta after all and I am a huge fan, but I was just wondering if I would love it as much as the first book. And the answer is a resounding yes. Though she threw me for a loop and had me crying, NO its not fair! Sorry can't tell you what that is, don't want to spoil it for you.

All the characters I loved so much are back and just how I remembered them. Though it has been awhile since I read the first book. It didn't take long to step back into their lives again. I have to admit with Creed I did want to smack him a couple times for being the stubborn man that he is. But I still love him anyway. We, also had an addition of a couple new characters, Mae and Ignatius, Jade and Bertha. I laughed out loud with these characters, they were just plain fun to read.

All and all it was a wild ride to the very end and not once was I bored. In fact I can almost say I loved this book even more than the first. Would I recommend yes!! If you have never read Keta's books then what are you waiting for. She spins a beautifully told story, woven with some spice and romance and a whole lot of drama for good measure.

The Kure by Jaye Frances Guest Post Giveaway and Review

Thank you, Donna, for the invitation to do a guest post. I really appreciate the opportunity to talk about The Kure and to give your readers a little insight into the origin of the book.

I’d like to start with a brief synopsis. The story takes place in 1860’s Kentucky, when John Tyler, a young man in his early twenties, discovers he has contracted a ghastly affliction affecting a most sensitive part of his body. When the village doctor offers the conventional, and potentially disfiguring, treatment as the only cure, John tenaciously convinces the doctor to reveal an alternative remedy—a forbidden ritual contained within an ancient manuscript called the Kure.

Although initially rejecting the vile and unholy rite, John realizes, too late, that the ritual is more than a faded promise scrawled on a page of crumbling paper. And as cure quickly becomes curse, the unholy text unleashes a dark power that drives him to consider the unthinkable—a depraved and wicked act requiring the corruption of an innocent soul.

Ultimately, John must choose between his desperate need to arrest the plague that is destroying his body, and the virtue of the woman he loves, knowing the wrong decision could cost him his life.

One of my biggest challenges in writing The Kure was to create an accurate depiction of the difficulties that befall the main characters, John and Sarah, without needless vulgarity or straying into the gratuitous.

John’s deteriorating physical condition and the narrative associated with the ritual performed by Sarah are admittedly graphic. But I also feel—and thankfully, have had it confirmed by the majority of reviews—that the grisly descriptions were essential in conveying the thoughts and actions of the characters. The raw intensity is there because the circumstances demand it. It’s there because the story won’t work without it.

For example, simply describing Sarah’s movements as she performed the heinous ritual mandated by the Kure would have provided the reader with little more than a robotic account of her actions. But revealing her thoughts, her terror, as she forced herself to comply with the shocking and depraved instructions of the profane rite is what keeps the reader turning the pages.

Here’s a brief excerpt:

Pushing through the layers of discharge, Sarah squeezed her eyes to near slits, trying to ignore the mutilated flesh resting in her hand. In spite of her resolve, the puddle of warm blood and pus gathering on her fingers was too much, and she began to gag on a rush of saliva. Afraid swallowing would set off the eruption building in her stomach, she leaned out, emptying her mouth.

She took a deep breath, then another, trying to prevent herself from vomiting. Sensing a trickle of moisture on her chin, she wiped at the warm fluid. Even in the dim light, she could see the smear of blood on the back of her hand. At first, she guessed it was from an absent brush with John’s groin. But as she dabbed at her chin, the renewed color made her realize she had been biting her lower lip, setting it to throb with her own pulse.

She felt herself trying to back away, her muscles straining against invisible bonds that were every bit as strong as the straps that would bind John to the treatment table. Yet she knew if the spells in the old book could really cure John, the release of their power would only come with complete agreement between her mind and body, without hesitation, without protest. She reminded herself that she was not a victim, nor was her predicament the result of naïve ignorance. She had chosen to do this, her conscience having become a quiet and consenting accomplice. She was paying the price willingly, resigning herself to attempt the insanely perverse act because it was part of the price—to ensure the commitment of the donor was sincere, she reasoned.

Sarah cringed, and then wondered why she hadn’t noticed it before—the stench of rotting flesh and draining pus. She inhaled slowly, trying to avoid the nauseating effects of the tainted air.

Dropping her head, Sarah pressed her cheek against the fevered skin of John’s thigh.
I’m stronger than this. I have to get control of myself.

As the drainage migrated into her mouth, she gagged on the thick, rancid fluid, the coppery taste of blood driving her throat into convulsions.

Brief Synopsis
Forbidden by law and denounced as an abomination by the church, the Kure has been hidden for centuries…

John Tyler has never met Sarah Sheridan. But he knows he must find her, and somehow convince her that she is the key to unlocking the power of an ancient ritual that will rid his body of a rare and ravaging disease.

But as cure quickly becomes curse, John realizes the ritual is more than a faded promise scrawled on a page of crumbling paper, and he discovers, too late, that the unholy text has unleashed a dark power that is driving him to consider the unthinkable.

Ultimately, John must choose between his desperate need to arrest the plague that is destroying his body, and the virtue of the woman he loves, knowing the wrong decision could cost him his life.

Review:
I have to say this book has the most unique storyline I have read in a very long time. The description was so entailed that I honestly winced as I envisioned the pain and suffering John was going through as he tried to find a Kure to heal the inflicted part of his body.

I tried to picture in my mind which Kure would be better, considering the era this book is set. which is 1865. The more I read the more I wanted to know if he was going to be healed and would he choose the one cure over the other Kure.

What grabbed me the most was John's inner battle within himself between a desperation to be healed and to do right by Sarah.

Also while, the story might seem rushed to some readers,  and at first I thought briefly the same thing. But then I had time to think about it and I understood why. He was in a dire situation.  There really wasn't anytime to be proper even in this era.

Warning! there are some definitely graphic parts to this book,so if you can't handle it then this book might not be for you. While I did mention I winced and made a few faces while reading this book, I did like it. So if you are looking for something unique and different and don't mind a bit of squeamish descriptive details, then give this book a try. The cliffhanger definitely has me curious to see where this story goes in the next book.

Amazon Summary:

My name—my True Name—is Ashallayn’ darkmyr Tallyn. I am the last remaining son of Mab, Queen of the Unseelie Court. And I am dead to her. My fall began, as many stories do, with a girl…
To cold faery prince Ash, love was a weakness for mortals and fools. His own love had died a horrible death, killing any gentler feelings the Winter prince might have had. Or so he thought.

Then Meghan Chase—a half human, half fey slip of a girl—smashed through his barricades, binding him to her irrevocably with his oath to be her knight. And when all of Faery nearly fell to the Iron fey, she severed their bond to save his life. Meghan is now the Iron Queen, ruler of a realm where no Winter or Summer fey can survive.

With the unwelcome company of his archrival, Summer Court prankster Puck, and the infuriating cait sith Grimalkin, Ash begins a journey he is bound to see through to its end—a quest to find a way to honor his vow to stand by Meghan's side.

To survive in the Iron Realm, Ash must have a soul and a mortal body. But the tests he must face to earn these things are impossible. And along the way Ash learns something that changes everything. A truth that challenges his darkest beliefs and shows him that, sometimes, it takes more than courage to make the ultimate sacrifice.

I am hugely excited to be a part of this tour, Please give a warm welcome to Julie Kaqawa

Did you know that you would do a fourth book in the series? Did you know that Ash would be the one telling it?

Well, originally, The Iron Fey series was set to be a trilogy, the last book ending with Meghan becoming the Iron Queen and saving the realm even at great cost. But when it was over, my fabulous editor (who knew what she was talking about) said we couldn't leave Ash and Meg like that without some kind of resolution. But Meghan's story was done; I didn't have anywhere else I could take her. Ash, on the other hand, had a great story to tell and a huge promise to keep. How far would he go to be with the girl he loves? That's when I decided to write his book and give him the chance to be a hero.

Which of the three courts: Summer, Winter or Iron, would you want to live in?

Probably Iron, as it's difficult to send email in Tir Na Nog. ;-)

Was the Gauntlet as much fun to write about as it was to read? How did you come up with the different tasks that Ash would have to complete?

Ah, this is where my gamer geekiness comes out. Almost every platform game or RPG has some sort of dungeon/castle/cave you have to get through, filled with traps and riddles and other nasty surprises. Would it be horribly nerdy to say I imagined Ash and company as a video game while writing The Gauntlet? It would? Oh well.

Do you keep a glossary of characters so you don't get confused with all of the monsters and creatures of Nevernever?

Not really. They sort of all live up in my head, and wow, that sounded schizophrenic. Little known fact about authors? We listen to the voices in our heads. ;-)

Review:
I have to say I have been wanting to read this series for a long time now, and though I still haven't read the first three books, I decided to join this tour anyway. Now I see why everyone is in love with this series.

Even though I was concerned I wouldn't be able to follow the story since I started on this book that wasn't the case. I wasn't confused at all and it just made me want to read the other books even more.

I was sucked into this story almost immediately and found it very hard to put down. And though I haven't read too many stories regarding the Fey I am finding they are becoming a new favorite to read about.

Would I go back to the first three books absolutely, this book was a delight and Julie Kagawa spins a wonderful tale. If you haven't read this series I would say go do it now!! Don't wait like I did.

Amazon Summary:

When you loved the one who was killing you, it left you no options. How could you run, how could you fight, when doing so would hurt that beloved one? If your life was all you had to give, how could you not give it? If it was someone you truly loved?

To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, a tumultuous year of temptation, loss, and strife have led her to the ultimate turning point. Her imminent choice to either join the dark but seductive world of immortals or to pursue a fully human life has become the thread from which the fates of two tribes hangs.

Now that Bella has made her decision, a startling chain of unprecedented events is about to unfold with potentially devastating, and unfathomable, consequences. Just when the frayed strands of Bella's life-first discovered in Twilight, then scattered and torn in New Moon and Eclipse-seem ready to heal and knit together, could they be destroyed... forever?

The astonishing, breathlessly anticipated conclusion to the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.

Review:
I admit the first time I read this series, I read it like I was addicted, nonstop late late nights, waking up early so I could keep reading. Finished the first three books within a few days(I am surprised I took the time to eat :) ). So when this book came out I couldn't wait to dive into it.

And though I did like this book, I am not sure its my favorite. I think I would have preferred to be all in Bella's point of view. Not that I didn't enjoy seeing Jacob's side(I love Jacob as a whole but if it were to be another point a view I would like maybe to have been Edward's).

I am not sure I connected with this book as I had with the others, and I am sad because I am not sure why either. Maybe it was the switch of points of view I dunno.

One think I can say about this book and the series overall is that it was read by a diverse of people as well I was able to get a nonreader to become a fan of reading. I personally found a new genre to love and not be embarrassed to read it and that is Young Adult.

Amazon Summary:

Some secrets are dangerous. This Secret is deadly.

Secret McQueen, Book 1

For Secret McQueen, her life feels like the punch line for a terrible joke. Abandoned at birth by her werewolf mother, hired as a teen by the vampire council of New York City to kill rogues, Secret is a part of both worlds, but belongs to neither. At twenty-two, she has carved out as close to a normal life as a bounty hunter can.

When an enemy from her past returns with her death on his mind, she is forced to call on every ounce of her mixed heritage to save herself—and everyone else in the city she calls home. As if the fate of the world wasn’t enough to deal with, there’s Lucas Rain, King of the East Coast werewolves, who seems to believe he and Secret are fated to be together. Too bad Secret also feels a connection with Desmond, Lucas’s second-in-command…

Warning: This book contains a sarcastic, kick-ass bounty hunter; a metaphysical love triangle with two sexy werewolves; a demanding vampire council; and a spicy seasoning of sex and violence.

Review:
I love it when I find a book that captures and holds my attention so much so I don't want to do anything else but read it and this book did just that. It sucked me in from the very first page and left me craving for more.

Now, I am finding it a tough time to write words to do this book justice. So bare with me as I try to put into words just how much I loved this book. The action began immediately and didn't end til the very last page. Which I was left with my jaw hanging wide open, yes ladies and gentleman there was a cliffhanger and not one I was expecting at all.

As for the characters I really connected with Secret, she's tough sarcastic but inside she is confused with who she is or wants to be. I honestly think she is now one of my favorite heroines of 2011.

I loved the side characters as well, Holden(who I would love to see more of) Keaty, Lucas and Desmond(I do believe he just might be my favorite male character.) Oh did I forget to mention that Secret not only feels a connection to not just one werewolf but two- oh what is a girl to do ? I would love to be in that predictiment!

Overall this book was a fantastic read and I found a new series and a new author to brag to others about. If you haven't read this book. You should, I am so glad I did. Can't wait to dive into the second book in this series.

Amazon Summary:
Beth Mason seemingly has it all. A successful bakery/café called Decadent Dreams, good friends, and a nice home in Stamford, New York.

After her previous boyfriend dumped her six months before for not spending enough time with him, Beth decided that she had been through enough and wanted more in a relationship. Throwing herself back into the dating scene, Beth decided to go onto an online dating website called, ‘A Foreign Affair.’

Enjoying the different types of men from all over the world that ‘A Foreign Affair’ catered to, Beth became struck by a handsome man from Belarus named Yuri who was the former manager of the famed Rhapsody night club. After realizing that they had a lot in common, the two struck up a close, intense relationship.

Yuri, who’s been depressed since his nightclub burned to the ground and watching his best friend’s parents both die from a terminal illness, decided to take Beth up on an invite and join her for a fun-filled weekend in New York City.

With both of them full of emotions, will the weekend be just what they needed or more than they bargained for?

Review:
I have to be honest I don't read many contemporary books, not sure why other than I like to escape from reality and contemporary is too close to reality. And can I say my thoughts on that was so wrong. I am glad I was given the chance to read this book.

Where to begin with this review? Other than I loved it !! Okay I know I need to write more than that don't I ?

I will start with the characters. I absolutely loved Beth, she is a successful businesswoman looking for love and where did she find it on a online dating site. She meets Yuri and they strike up an online friendship that spreads over the months.

Yuri, what can I say about him(I know who was used for the muse for this character and he is so sexy). I just want to say if I could find a man like him online, I might consider online dating.

I read this in a matter of hours and enjoyed every minute of it, not only was it a sweet romance, boy was the smexy action hot!!(I had been freezing until I read this book.)

I highly recommend Ty Langston and Decadent Dreams, and if you aren't such a fan of contemporary give this one a shot it will make you rethink like it did me. Right now, I am waiting on pins and needles for more of Yuri and Beth, but  I am hoping for a Nik and Jessie book?  And maybe Kelly, I really loved her and she deserves happiness too. Not asking for much am I but this book was just that damned good!!
