Here is a Heartfelt apology to all my followers ... I'm sorry for Lack of posts last couple months

I would like to take the time to apologize to all my followers, anyone that has sent a request for a review and anyone else who stops by my blog. I am sorry for the lack of posts as of late. When life kicks you in the butt. It did with full force to me..

First of all I was in the hospital last month  for almost a week. then we finally found a big enough house so while I was trying to get back on my feet we started packing to move. Thankfully for my son and DH they did most of my packing.  Then right before we were to move I got sick with the stomach flu - bad I never had it hit me for a week but this knocked me on my ass.. and kept me there. I will never wish that on anyone.


We are finally moved and I am finally back to feeling like myself though next month around June 24th I will be getting all my teeth pulled so I might be away for a couple days I hope not too long. but until then I will be trying to catch up on everything here.

I will be sending emails to all those that joined the For the Love of Mythology hop... I might need some of you to email me with your email addy's because the linky I signed up with unfortunately doesn't show anyone's emails for me.

Beyond The Edge: Character Interview and Giveaway

 Please give a warm welcome to Kallysten, who is stopping by today here at BLH. 

Kallysten: First, let me thank BLH for having us here today as part of the Beyond The Edge Book Tour! A few days ago I had the chance to interview all five of the characters from Beyond TheEdge. Today I’d like to focus on just one of them, Lisa. To start, I’d like you to tell us a little about you. Who is Lisa Shetfield?

Lisa: Who and what I am is a vampire. I was turned… well, let’s just say a few decades ago. A lady grows discreet about her age when she reaches a certain point.

Kallysten: Fair enough. Did you choose to become a vampire? How did you end up with fangs?

Lisa: No, it wasn’t my choice at all. I was months away from getting married when it happened, and all I dreamed of was a life with a man I loved, children, a nice home, big family gatherings for the holidays… As normal a life as you can imagine. A vampire snatched me right off the street when I was coming home from dinner at a friend’s house. Her father had offered to walk me home and I said I’d be fine since it was just down the street. I’ve often wondered what would have happened if he’d been with me. I suppose Nikolas, my Sire, would have killed him and still taken me. Waking up as a vampire was frightening. At the time, I didn’t know much about vampires other than they existed. Becoming one… well, like I said, it wasn’t my choice.

Kallysten: Would you go back and change the past if you could?

Lisa: I don’t think about it that way. My mother taught me not to cry over what I can’t change and to make the best of what I am given. That’s what I tried to do across the years, although at times it wasn’t easy. As soon as I was strong enough to resist my Sire, I left him, and made my own life, with my own rules.

Kallysten: And one of these rules was about love, wasn’t it?

Lisa: Yes. For a long time I refused to let myself love so I would be spared the pain of losing someone again, like I had lost my fiancé.

Kallysten: But there you are with Brett, Leo, and a ring on your finger. Can you explain how you went from ‘never love again’ to your present situation?

Lisa: I’d explain it if I understood it. (She laughs.) When Brett and I met, I made it clear to him that I don’t do monogamous, and he was okay with that. And I don’t mean he pretended to be okay with it to please me. I know it turned him on to watch me dance and flirt with other people. But things changed over the years, and… well, there was this. (She shows the band of platinum and diamonds on her ring finger.) He said it was only a sign of his love, nothing more, but it’s hard to take a ring from someone you’re that close to and not have it mean anything more. As for Leo… He and I were sired just days apart. We ‘grew up’ as vampires together, so to speak. We were close for years, and then we lost touch. When we reconnected again, I was with Brett and I knew the two of them would hit it off. And that they’d give each other things I couldn’t give either of them. Brett gave Leo a ring, too. And eventually Leo and I got one for Brett.

Kallysten: You say ‘eventually’ but it did take a while for you to give it to him. And then, there was that time when you took off your ring. Do you want to tell us about that?

Lisa: Do I want to? No. Not really.

Kallysten: Come on. I know that particular moment caused some readers to be angry with you. Here’s your chance to explain yourself. (And here, readers who haven’t read Beyond The Edge might want to skip to the next couple of questions to avoid spoilers…)

Lisa: (She sighs and pays with her ring, turning it on her finger.) It all goes back to that ‘normal life’ I once dreamed of having. Marriage and children… for me, they went together. When Brett told us Virginia was pregnant… I’m not proud of it, but all I could think of was the normal life I’ll never have, with a husband, a child, growing older with them, watching our baby grow up and become a young man or woman with their own family. I’d done my best not to think about it over the years because I knew it’d never happen, but in that moment that… void, that loss just came back to me. On one hand, I was angry and jealous that a woman Brett doesn’t even love could give him what I couldn’t. And at the same time I was wondering if that normal life was what he wanted, maybe without even admitting it to himself. When I took off the ring, it wasn’t so much to deny Brett’s love for me. It was me thinking for an insane instant that he might be better off without me in his life. With Virginia and the baby.

Kallysten: But you just said he doesn’t love her.

Lisa: (She shrugs.) I never pretended it was rational. Like I said, I was angry and jealous, and that doesn’t exactly help anyone think clearly. And I didn’t even realize that’s what was happening in my own head. It took some time before I could figure it out.

Kallysten: Thank you for revisiting this painful moment and casting some light on it. Let’s finish with a more lighthearted and less spoilerific topic. You have two men in your bed, and they both love you as much as they love each other, which is rather obvious every time the three of you get on with the naked, sexy kind of fun. Tell us… Do you have a favorite position or act?

Lisa: (She bursts out laughing.) Oh, gosh. A favorite position? I don’t know. That’s the thing about having two sexy, imaginative lovers: we’ve tried every position and combination possible, but it always feels new. I love having both of them inside me. I love when I’m just with one of them and the other watches, or when they’re together and I’m the one watching. I love when it starts with two and moves on to three. But like I said, every night with them is special. If I really have to pick one thing I like more than others, it’s when we go to the cliff. It’s our own, secret place, right over the ocean. Sometimes we make love there, and sometimes we just sit and watch the waves, share a bottle of wine and talk. As long as we’re together, that’s really all that matters.

Thanks for having me here today at Book Lovers Hideaway! I'm touring blogs all month with Book Monster Promotions talking about my Sons of Navarus series in preparation for the 4th novel in the series, Blood Prophecy, which is coming May 14, 2013. For readers who've followed the Sons from the beginning, it will be a real turning point, and for readers who haven't begun the series yet, there's more than enough time to get lost in the Sons' world.

When I set out to write a series about eight vampire warriors, I wanted to create one that readers would fall in love with. With that in mind, I decided that each book's hero would be different. The result is eight heroes each with his unique style and flavor. There's Vasilije, the hedonist who lives for pleasure; Saint, the tortured, brooding hero; Terek, the mystical and spiritual hero and warrior for his kind. Then there are Ramiel, the violent Son, and Thane, the gentle giant who together with Ramiel must decipher the Prophecy of Idolas to save the vampire world from Archon takeover. Sion is the brainy, quiet Son with a past that still haunts him, while Dante is the youngest Son and the joker of the group. Finally, there is Nico, the oldest Son and not what he appears to be.

The key to each book being different is the focus on the little things that make each Son unique. That means for one choosing a setting that fits each one's style and personality. So Vasilije, the decadent hedonist who lives to enjoy life, has his story, Blood Avenged, set in New Orleans, a wonderfully sultry and sexy city so full of pleasure. No one would ever mistake his book with Saint's book, Blood Betrayed, which is very much his character. Saint is distant and defensive, so his book is set in the French countryside, away from everything, and the town of Avignon, a walled city in France. Now Terek is the most seductive of all the Sons while at the same time being the most spiritual, so Spain and Morocco are perfect settings for this former Catholic monk and vampire who studied Islam while at the same time has sired thousands of female vampires who view him almost as a god. Blood Spirit is very much like Terek—seductive but mystical.

 With Blood Prophecy, readers will instantly see that the setting of Rome matches the violent and dominant Son Ramiel's personality. Centuries of conquering made Rome the most powerful city in the most powerful empire on the planet. While Rome may be less aggressive today, it fits the character of Ramiel perfectly. It's also the perfect setting for the major turning point in the series.

 For some, writing may be something that works only on the surface, but my stories always have deeper meanings for those that choose to see them. While they work on the romantic and erotic level, they also work on other levels too.

Excerpt from Blood Avenged:

Vasilije looked around the room he’d just appeared in, his body alert to any danger. He’d followed the sense he’d gotten before Teagan’s spirit had been extinguished and knew he was in his home in New Orleans. Everything about the place was Teagan—from the Turkish cigarettes he smoked, to the bottle of Guinness that sat on the coffee table, to the musky scent that identified him as one of Vasilije’s vampires.

And the beautiful woman staring at him.

“Who did this?” Vasilije demanded.

Big brown eyes stared back at him. “I don’t know. It happened so fast. I left to grab another six pack and when I got back, someone had a stake...”

Vasilije stood watching the stranger as she cried, needing more information but forced to wait until there was a break in her tears.

“Who are you?”

The woman dried her eyes and sniffled. “Sasa. I was his girlfriend.”

At the use of the past tense, she began tearing up again, but Vasilije didn’t have time for it. Whoever had staked Teagan couldn’t have gone too far and any more time wasted with Sasa’s crying may mean he’d lose the fucker.

He moved to leave and her hand caught his arm.

“Please don’t go.”

She looked up at him with such a sad expression for a moment he didn’t want to go. But he couldn’t let Teagan’s murderer escape. Vasilije touched his hand to hers to remove it from his arm, but all this did was make her squeeze tighter.

“Please,” she begged in a voice that matched the pathetic look in her eyes. “Don’t leave me alone now.”

The urge to tear his arm from her hold and leave her to her misery spiked in him, but it was overruled by that small part of him that understood her sadness.

“Fine. Follow me. And keep up. And if I tell you to do something, do it. Do you understand?”

For a second, she looked surprised, and Vasilije thought he was going to hear a string of irritating questions. None came, though, and when he turned to head out the door, she followed silently.

At the street, he stopped and inhaled deeply, hoping to sense something that would help him find Teagan’s killer. Nothing came. But there’d been something in the apartment...something that he was sure he recognized.

Eyes closed, he let his other senses take over, but he got nothing. “What did he look like?”

“I don’t know. It was so quick. Blond, I think.”

Vasilije snapped his head to the left to look at her. “Man or woman?”

Instantly, Tatiana’s threat repeated in his head. Now I take something you cherish. Had she staked one of his vampires in retaliation over Alex? Vasilije doubted even Tatiana would stake a vampire herself, but she wasn’t above having someone else do it.

 “Man.”

That didn’t mean Tatiana wasn’t behind Teagan’s murder. And who was this woman who claimed to be Teagan’s girlfriend?

“Did you see which direction he ran?”

Sasa shook her head sadly. “No, I’m sorry. Are you his sire?” “

How do you know about that?” he asked, more suspicious than he’d been just a minute earlier.

“Teagan was a vampire, and you just look like a sire would. That’s what you call them, right?”

 As she spoke, Vasilije studied her under the streetlight’s glow, still unsure she was who she claimed to be. Not bad looking, she seemed like someone Teagan could like. He’d always preferred brunettes with big eyes and bigger tits, and although she didn’t measure up to porn star level, she still had a nice body. He could see her as Teagan’s girlfriend.

 I can say that individually these authors are awesome, but you put them together and you have magic. I devoured Raphael's story so fast I think I had barely time to let soak in this wonderfully, steamy short story. I almost immediately fell in love with Raphael. He is definitely is my type of guy, pure sexy alpha male.

For as short as this book is, I completely could feel Ashe's heartache and pain regarding her family or rather her treatment by them. Make sure you have the a/c on too while you read this because you definitely will need something to cool you off when you finish.

I am so torn here, I thought Raphael won me over but Parish I think stole my heart.  He is grouchy, gruff, tortured (I think that's what did it, I am a such a sucker for a tortured hero) and ever so sexy too.  I honestly cannot not say which story I loved more, in fact I know I can't. Raphael and Parish are somewhat the same but different and their mates as well. Both girls, whom I just adore, have heartbreak in their lives, before meeting these sexy shifters. 

These authors did a fabulous job in such a short period of time of grabbing me and not letting go until the stories ended, even now I crave more. I will be diving into the Bayon/Jean Baptiste's as soon as I finish this review .. I have a feeling I will be come more addicted with the Pantera and all these sexy shifters. 

If you have yet to read this, do so right now, seriously it is such a fast read you won't even know what time it is until you are finished. One last thing I must say, if I could have rated this higher I would have.
