Summary:

Even unconditional love cannot always banish an eternal nightmare

The Foxworth family has blazed a trail through human and vampire history alike, changing the ways of both races in Canada for all time. The Council has demanded a full report for the long and twisted tale of how the Surrey Coven had come to be the most powerful and feared; an assemblage that anyone would question before coming up against.

The Leader of the Surrey Coven, Canya recalls how her family came to be. A story filled with pain and heartache, until she meets Gregory Foxworth: a debonair CEO to the family shipping company. Gregory remembers taking her away from a life that shocks him, hoping to shelter and love her. But little does he know all he has done, was make her a target for a sadistically warped man. One who will have her and his own personal brand of vengeance. Sometimes, a grudge is forever.

Review:
I love finding books with new unique takes on the vampire lore, I always wonder just how many ways you can make vampires and the politics behind them. What I really enjoyed about this book besides the uniqueness of the vampire lore was that it was told as if writing in a journal.

We start out in the present then go back into time for when Canya was turned. Canya had a miserable life until she meets Gregory, who rescues her and takes her in. Giving her a life that she always dreamed of and a family she always longed for.

Normally I'm not a big fan of switching off character points of view, but the author did a wonderful job of not confusing me and helping me to connect to both Canya and Gregory.

Overall this is great to start to a series and I can't wait to read on with Arcadia's story. So if you are a vampire lover I urge you to give this one a try.

Summary:

Love conquers all...and evil seeks to destroy it.

Arcadia Foxworth has no idea what destiny has in store for him. He thought his life as an elite Council Hunter of Rogues was his perfect career choice. But little does he know his fate truly lies in one little powder keg, Korbin Callows. She’s beautiful, graceful—and a stripper.

After having woken up, remembering nothing about her old life, Korbin had to pull herself together and make tough decisions to survive a harsh world. And now people she doesn’t even know are out to kill her. She finds herself relying on Arcadia to maneuver the new dangers presented to her, as she starts to recall who she really is. A powerful being that could make every vampire in British Columbia fall to their knees, including Arcadia.

Review:
These second book in the Foxworth series, is Arcadia and Korbin's tale of how they met and fought against the 'persons' responsible for Korbin's memory loss.

I enjoyed reading more about the Foxworth family(coven) a family that will take in anyone to help them from whatever that is after them. I also enjoyed reading more about Arcadia because we really didn't know much about him because he was still fairly young and the story was mainly focused around Gregory and Canya.

This story is a nice continuation in this series, it had some nice twists and turns in the storyline. I am anxiously awaiting the next chapter in this story of this family.

Guest Post with Nova Sparks Author of The Dome Trilogy

Please give a warm welcome to Nova who is guest posting at BLH today. Thank you Nova for stopping by today.

My name is Nova Sparks and I'm the author of the sci-fi urban fantasy romance series, the DOME trilogy. The first installment of the trilogy is called the DOME and is available now on Amazon, BN, and Smashwords. The second installment of the trilogy is called the DOME revelation and will be made available on November 30th!

Being an author, I find myself reading a lot. Even before I started writing, I would read a whole bunch. Even though the DOME trilogy is an adult series, I also enjoy reading a lot of Young Adult books, my secret love. When a book is SOOO good, I get caught up in the story. I love character driven stories, Darwin's Children/Unnatural Law by Natasha Larry and Caleo by James Crawford are AWESOME because of the amazing story they tell and the amazing characters.

But being caught up in a story that is so good causes you to glance over certain things. Now before I mention these things, many people may decide that these things aren't important details, and in fact, a story can survive without them. And they will be right, a story can survive without these "unmentioned details". In fact, I know of tons of stories that have done ridiculously well, selling millions of copies, without never once mentioning these details. So, what are these details? If we are writing about fiction human characters, these charcters still have to be really human. And being really human, even in a fiction would, means doing things that real humans do in real life. So, why is that many books have characters that never eat, never use the bathroom, and never take showers?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know what you guys are saying...that these things are not important and don't contribute to the fabric of a good story. And again, I will say you're sorta right. I just find it quite odd that many authors, including myself, choose to ignore human habit and behavior. In the Dome trilogy, I had to literally remind myself every time I wrote a new day, to feed my characters and make sure they took showers. It just didn't seem right not adding that in there. Does this make me crazy? Am I obsessing about meaningless details? I hope not, because if I am, many of you may find it quite odd that I made my teenage character, Emma, go through her menstrual cycle. Hey, she's a young girl and months go by. Don't females have the rag every month? lol

Thank you so much, Donna, for allowing me to post on your blog!

DOMErevelation Synopsis:

The Syrions want something from the humans and Sam is sure of it.

Emma Tucker didn't expect to fall in love with a Syrion boy and she definitely didn't expect for her life to be ruined because of it. After a group of dangerous Syrions found out about her involvement with one of their own, they made sure that she got the message to stay away. Living in fear inside of the Dome, Emma finds herself in the company of a human, Jason, a young man who seems to be everything Emma should want. Amazon Summary:
Kelsee Lewis has a new school, a prima donna best friend, and one week to write a hit play. Throw in a self-obsessed mom and an absent executive dad, and it’s no wonder she has panic attacks—complete with time-warp special effects. When Kelsee meets comic book maven Quinn, she realizes the attacks give her the ability to rewind time.

Replaying life seems like the best way to erase mistakes. But will second chances leave Kelsee flailing in the orchestra pit alone?

Review:
Kelsee Lewis is your average teen. Excluding her frequent panic attacks, a serious knack for play-writing, and an incredible ability to stop time. At her new school, Bonne Arts Magnet High School, she’s got her best friend pressuring her to finish a script that got her accepted in the first place. Plus, there’s the ever-present mom breathing down her neck. The panic attacks don’t help either and Kelsee soon discovers they’re not that easy to overlook anymore.

Replay is an overall amazing YA book. The characters are relatable and often times hilarious. I loved Kelsee. She’s witty with a bit of a snark, which I admire. It was impossible to not laugh at the quirky dialogue. As Kelsee develops more of her powers, I am so intrigued by the control she wields. Who wouldn’t want to stop and rewind time?

It was a fast paced read with lots of twists and turns that I simply couldn’t imagine what could come next. Each chapter opens with a setting and character blurb and divided into acts, which comes nicely together to create a script-like appearance. The story does revolve around her play after all. Controlling her new superhero powers also adds to the jumbled mix of her problems. When Kelsee tries to fix things, something always comes around and knocks her down again. But she’s stubborn to the core with the determination to prove herself to her family, friends, and school,

Replay was a great read and I can’t recommend this enough to anyone looking for quick and funny teen read. Keira Lea has all the qualities of a talented author with unique ideas. I hope to read many more of her works.

tempted to come clean and tell John the truth. But will he send her back if she does? Or will they forever be CHASING CLOVERS?

EXCERPT:

CHAPTER ONE

Calgary, 1884

The stagecoach pitched to a stop, jostling Livy Green from fitful nightmares of a past she longed to bury and the stranger she was about to marry. Her neck stiff and her back aching, she massaged her shoulders. She straightened and tried to stretch her arms, but the tiny space wouldn't allow it.

A loud sigh blew from her lips when she realized how rumpled her clothes were. Frowning, she ran her hands along her skirt. Nothing but a hot iron would get the wrinkles out. With only two other dresses in her wardrobe, and no time to change anyway, she had no choice but to meet her fiancé looking as she did.

Her stomach dropped. What if I'm not what he's expecting?

She peered out the window and wasn't surprised to see a few North West Mounted Police mingling with the other townspeople. Their bright red uniforms stood out like apples on a tree. She reached for her satchel and held it tightly before she stepped out the small door. You can do this. She squeezed the handle on her luggage. You have to.

Fort Calgary was a bustling town with two hotels on either side of the street, a small dress shop with ladies hats and fabric displayed in the window, and a red-bricked bank on the northwest corner. She watched people walking along the wooden planks and filtering in and out of the shops.

A loud squeal sounded behind her.

Livy jumped. She was almost trampled by a young boy running from his mother. Her heart lurched at the sight of the child. The familiar ache inside her soul willed her to look away. But she continued to watch mother and child until they disappeared inside the mercantile.

She took a deep breath, forced all thoughts of the past out of her mind and scanned the streets again. Her face flushed when she thought of what she was about to do.

Bag in hand, she spotted the blacksmith across the street next to the barbershop. Her stomach twisted at the sight of the saloon two buildings down. The all too familiar swinging doors waved back and forth taunting her. Two drunken cowboys left the saloon, weaving their way down the boardwalk.

Livy clenched the satchel and tensed.

She turned away, closed her eyes, and took another deep breath. Here she would be the wife to John Taylor―a man she'd never met―and stepmother to his two children.

She took another breath. She would start over. Again.

She surveyed the busy boardwalk in search of a tall man with dark hair. Almost every man she saw fit the description he had given her, so she decided to move over to the bench in front of the mercantile and wait for Mr. Taylor to find her. Hands folded together on her lap. She tapped her toe restlessly. Where could he be?

A rough looking cowboy sauntered toward her. His brown greasy hair, and ripped denims were paired with an evil smile.

Livy tucked her chin into her chest. Oh, please don't let that be him. She'd seen his type before and knew what they were capable of. The man lingered beside her for a few moments before continuing on down the boardwalk.

She sighed with relief. How am I going to do this?

No longer Angel Green, she was now Olivia Green. The past was far behind her, except on those long dark nights that would not allow her to escape it.

She chewed on her bottom lip and stared at the busy street.

Her new life would begin here. She would survive.

She blew out a shaky breath. It was all she knew how to do.

"Olivia?" a male voice asked.

A tall man stood beside her, his hat pulled low so she couldn't see his eyes. He hesitated, then extended his hand. "Olivia?" He had a polite, resonating voice.

She shaded her eyes with a hand. "Livy will do fine." She was uncomfortably aware of his presence as he towered over her.

He smiled and took off his hat. Wavy black hair curled above the collar of his coat and his skin was tanned from the sun. He looked nothing like the dirty cowboy. Thank goodness. Instead, he wore a clean flannel shirt tucked into faded denim pants.

"John Taylor. Good to finally meet you. My buckboard is over there." He pointed the way, then peered around. "Where are your trunks?"

"I only have this one."

Her cheeks reddened as she lifted her tattered brown satchel. She held it slightly behind, not wanting him to see the holes and stains on it.

Nodding, he offered his arm. She ignored it. Friendly eyes stared back at her. After what had happened to her in Great Falls, she hated being touched by men.

"Do not be insulted, Mr. Taylor," she said, staring at his boots, "but I'd rather you show me the way instead."

She headed in the direction he'd pointed out earlier. When she heard a low chuckle from behind, she pursed her lips and walked faster. I need no one, least of all a man.

In truth, she needed John Taylor more than she could admit.

As soon as she reached the buckboard, she tossed the satchel up onto the seat, gathered her skirts and climbed up. She had sat down when she noticed he was still standing on the walk.

"Uh, Miss Green?" He tipped his hat back, crossed well muscled arms and smiled at her. "That's not my buckboard."

Her face flooded with heat.

If this wasn't his wagon, why hadn't he said something earlier, instead of watching her make a fool of herself?

Her eyes misted. How had she gotten here, in this place, with a man she didn't even know? She
swallowed. How could she have thought he was the answer to her problems?

Amazon Summary:

My name—my True Name—is Ashallayn’ darkmyr Tallyn. I am the last remaining son of Mab, Queen of the Unseelie Court. And I am dead to her. My fall began, as many stories do, with a girl…
To cold faery prince Ash, love was a weakness for mortals and fools. His own love had died a horrible death, killing any gentler feelings the Winter prince might have had. Or so he thought.

Then Meghan Chase—a half human, half fey slip of a girl—smashed through his barricades, binding him to her irrevocably with his oath to be her knight. And when all of Faery nearly fell to the Iron fey, she severed their bond to save his life. Meghan is now the Iron Queen, ruler of a realm where no Winter or Summer fey can survive.

With the unwelcome company of his archrival, Summer Court prankster Puck, and the infuriating cait sith Grimalkin, Ash begins a journey he is bound to see through to its end—a quest to find a way to honor his vow to stand by Meghan's side.

To survive in the Iron Realm, Ash must have a soul and a mortal body. But the tests he must face to earn these things are impossible. And along the way Ash learns something that changes everything. A truth that challenges his darkest beliefs and shows him that, sometimes, it takes more than courage to make the ultimate sacrifice.

I am hugely excited to be a part of this tour, Please give a warm welcome to Julie Kaqawa

Did you know that you would do a fourth book in the series? Did you know that Ash would be the one telling it?

Well, originally, The Iron Fey series was set to be a trilogy, the last book ending with Meghan becoming the Iron Queen and saving the realm even at great cost. But when it was over, my fabulous editor (who knew what she was talking about) said we couldn't leave Ash and Meg like that without some kind of resolution. But Meghan's story was done; I didn't have anywhere else I could take her. Ash, on the other hand, had a great story to tell and a huge promise to keep. How far would he go to be with the girl he loves? That's when I decided to write his book and give him the chance to be a hero.

Which of the three courts: Summer, Winter or Iron, would you want to live in?

Probably Iron, as it's difficult to send email in Tir Na Nog. ;-)

Was the Gauntlet as much fun to write about as it was to read? How did you come up with the different tasks that Ash would have to complete?

Ah, this is where my gamer geekiness comes out. Almost every platform game or RPG has some sort of dungeon/castle/cave you have to get through, filled with traps and riddles and other nasty surprises. Would it be horribly nerdy to say I imagined Ash and company as a video game while writing The Gauntlet? It would? Oh well.

Do you keep a glossary of characters so you don't get confused with all of the monsters and creatures of Nevernever?

Not really. They sort of all live up in my head, and wow, that sounded schizophrenic. Little known fact about authors? We listen to the voices in our heads. ;-)

Review:
I have to say I have been wanting to read this series for a long time now, and though I still haven't read the first three books, I decided to join this tour anyway. Now I see why everyone is in love with this series.

Even though I was concerned I wouldn't be able to follow the story since I started on this book that wasn't the case. I wasn't confused at all and it just made me want to read the other books even more.

I was sucked into this story almost immediately and found it very hard to put down. And though I haven't read too many stories regarding the Fey I am finding they are becoming a new favorite to read about.

Would I go back to the first three books absolutely, this book was a delight and Julie Kagawa spins a wonderful tale. If you haven't read this series I would say go do it now!! Don't wait like I did.

Amazon Summary:

When you loved the one who was killing you, it left you no options. How could you run, how could you fight, when doing so would hurt that beloved one? If your life was all you had to give, how could you not give it? If it was someone you truly loved?

To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, a tumultuous year of temptation, loss, and strife have led her to the ultimate turning point. Her imminent choice to either join the dark but seductive world of immortals or to pursue a fully human life has become the thread from which the fates of two tribes hangs.

Now that Bella has made her decision, a startling chain of unprecedented events is about to unfold with potentially devastating, and unfathomable, consequences. Just when the frayed strands of Bella's life-first discovered in Twilight, then scattered and torn in New Moon and Eclipse-seem ready to heal and knit together, could they be destroyed... forever?

The astonishing, breathlessly anticipated conclusion to the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.

Review:
I admit the first time I read this series, I read it like I was addicted, nonstop late late nights, waking up early so I could keep reading. Finished the first three books within a few days(I am surprised I took the time to eat :) ). So when this book came out I couldn't wait to dive into it.

And though I did like this book, I am not sure its my favorite. I think I would have preferred to be all in Bella's point of view. Not that I didn't enjoy seeing Jacob's side(I love Jacob as a whole but if it were to be another point a view I would like maybe to have been Edward's).

I am not sure I connected with this book as I had with the others, and I am sad because I am not sure why either. Maybe it was the switch of points of view I dunno.

One think I can say about this book and the series overall is that it was read by a diverse of people as well I was able to get a nonreader to become a fan of reading. I personally found a new genre to love and not be embarrassed to read it and that is Young Adult.

EXCERPT

By the time we got to Rocket Burger, I felt like I’d been ridden hard and put away wet. And if I’d just been having sex that would have been great, but considering that I felt this way after a ten minute drive with Walker, it didn’t bode well for the rest of the evening.

Walker, as a vampire, generally didn’t get hot. So when the air conditioning went out in his truck he saw no need to fix it. In order to keep me from suffocating or sweating literally to death on the ride to Rocket Burger, we had to drive with the windows rolled down. Naturally this didn’t really cool me off so much as whip my hair into a crazy frenzy, get sand and road dust stuck to my face, and evenly spread my sweat all over my body. In short, I was disgusting.

We got out of the car and Walker asked me something but I couldn’t hear him over the roar of hundreds of motorcycles all revving their engines for bike night. Since I also can’t read lips I simply looked at Walker stupidly, unsure how to even react to the sounds he was obviously trying to make.

“You have a hair,” he shouted, “going up your nose!”

Of course I did. I ran my fingers through my hair and tried to make it look sexily tousled but I’m sure I didn’t achieve the look. “Can we get a table?” I shouted back to him.

He smiled and grabbed my hand and then pulled me toward the building. Rocket Burger is made up of two different sections--the original restaurant which is closed-in and air-conditioned and the ramshackle shack portion of the restaurant which has a lovely and quaint dirt floor, picnic tables, and random two-by-fours with plywood crookedly affixed to them as “walls.” How it has survived hurricane season in Florida for over fifty years is anybody’s guess.

Walker led me to the unair-conditioned ramshackle portion of the restaurant and we sat down at an empty picnic table. Since my white shorts were already looking less than clean, I didn’t bother to wipe off the seat. To hell with it, I thought. It’s not like we’re ever going on another date.

The waitress came to our table and asked what we wanted to drink. We both ordered beer and I went ahead and put in my hamburger order too. Walker, apparently, wasn’t hungry because he didn’t ask for anything in the way of food. Maybe I wasn’t the only one that wanted to get this over with quickly.

I was surprised when Walker’s hand reached across the table and rested on top of mine. One of my eyebrows went up and I looked at him. “Really? Is that how you feel this date is going? It’s going well enough to touch each other?”

He laughed. “I’m a man, Josie. We could be swinging bats at each other’s heads and I’d still want to touch you.

It's Our One Year Blogoversary!

Today is our 1 year Blogoversary and even though I decided to hold a special event in January, I couldn't go without saying something today.. One year ago I was talking to close friend and she said since I loved books so much I should start a blog. I thought why not. Even though I didn't think I would get much response I figured how fun it might be anyway.

A year later, I am amazed how far BLH has come. Without you followers BLH wouldn't be what it is today! I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to all my fellow bloggers, followers and author's I have worked with. All the support has been phenomenal. I would like to give a special shout out to Kelly who was a big help and we now welcomed Linda. I hope we can continue to have as much fun this next year as we did this year.

Keep on the lookout for January and the special Blogoversary event... I hope to have a lot of surprises and fun during that time.

Again thank you!!

Countdown to Breaking Dawn 4 days and counting

I admit I am Twilight fan of the books and movies(though I do love the books more) but I have been waiting for this movie to come out for awhile now. This weekend if all goes well I am going with my Sister in Law and son. So how many Twilight fans are there? C'mon you can admit it I did :). If you are do you love the books more than the movies? Who is your favorite character out of the books? Who is your favorite actor portrayal. Mine is Jasper I just love him. C'mon don't be shy??

Should I or Shouldn't I ? Whether to Keep Ratings or Not

I need your opinion, I have been debating for a long time whether I should keep my ratings system or not. I would like to know if the ratings or the overall review helps you when you read reviews. Would you miss a rating system if I were to get rid of it? Please help I just need an idea of what everyone thinks if I should or shouldn't ?

Amazon Summary:

Some secrets are dangerous. This Secret is deadly.

Secret McQueen, Book 1

For Secret McQueen, her life feels like the punch line for a terrible joke. Abandoned at birth by her werewolf mother, hired as a teen by the vampire council of New York City to kill rogues, Secret is a part of both worlds, but belongs to neither. At twenty-two, she has carved out as close to a normal life as a bounty hunter can.

When an enemy from her past returns with her death on his mind, she is forced to call on every ounce of her mixed heritage to save herself—and everyone else in the city she calls home. As if the fate of the world wasn’t enough to deal with, there’s Lucas Rain, King of the East Coast werewolves, who seems to believe he and Secret are fated to be together. Too bad Secret also feels a connection with Desmond, Lucas’s second-in-command…

Warning: This book contains a sarcastic, kick-ass bounty hunter; a metaphysical love triangle with two sexy werewolves; a demanding vampire council; and a spicy seasoning of sex and violence.

Review:
I love it when I find a book that captures and holds my attention so much so I don't want to do anything else but read it and this book did just that. It sucked me in from the very first page and left me craving for more.

Now, I am finding it a tough time to write words to do this book justice. So bare with me as I try to put into words just how much I loved this book. The action began immediately and didn't end til the very last page. Which I was left with my jaw hanging wide open, yes ladies and gentleman there was a cliffhanger and not one I was expecting at all.

As for the characters I really connected with Secret, she's tough sarcastic but inside she is confused with who she is or wants to be. I honestly think she is now one of my favorite heroines of 2011.

I loved the side characters as well, Holden(who I would love to see more of) Keaty, Lucas and Desmond(I do believe he just might be my favorite male character.) Oh did I forget to mention that Secret not only feels a connection to not just one werewolf but two- oh what is a girl to do ? I would love to be in that predictiment!

Overall this book was a fantastic read and I found a new series and a new author to brag to others about. If you haven't read this book. You should, I am so glad I did. Can't wait to dive into the second book in this series.

Amazon Summary:
Beth Mason seemingly has it all. A successful bakery/café called Decadent Dreams, good friends, and a nice home in Stamford, New York.

After her previous boyfriend dumped her six months before for not spending enough time with him, Beth decided that she had been through enough and wanted more in a relationship. Throwing herself back into the dating scene, Beth decided to go onto an online dating website called, ‘A Foreign Affair.’

Enjoying the different types of men from all over the world that ‘A Foreign Affair’ catered to, Beth became struck by a handsome man from Belarus named Yuri who was the former manager of the famed Rhapsody night club. After realizing that they had a lot in common, the two struck up a close, intense relationship.

Yuri, who’s been depressed since his nightclub burned to the ground and watching his best friend’s parents both die from a terminal illness, decided to take Beth up on an invite and join her for a fun-filled weekend in New York City.

With both of them full of emotions, will the weekend be just what they needed or more than they bargained for?

Review:
I have to be honest I don't read many contemporary books, not sure why other than I like to escape from reality and contemporary is too close to reality. And can I say my thoughts on that was so wrong. I am glad I was given the chance to read this book.

Where to begin with this review? Other than I loved it !! Okay I know I need to write more than that don't I ?

I will start with the characters. I absolutely loved Beth, she is a successful businesswoman looking for love and where did she find it on a online dating site. She meets Yuri and they strike up an online friendship that spreads over the months.

Yuri, what can I say about him(I know who was used for the muse for this character and he is so sexy). I just want to say if I could find a man like him online, I might consider online dating.

I read this in a matter of hours and enjoyed every minute of it, not only was it a sweet romance, boy was the smexy action hot!!(I had been freezing until I read this book.)

I highly recommend Ty Langston and Decadent Dreams, and if you aren't such a fan of contemporary give this one a shot it will make you rethink like it did me. Right now, I am waiting on pins and needles for more of Yuri and Beth, but  I am hoping for a Nik and Jessie book?  And maybe Kelly, I really loved her and she deserves happiness too. Not asking for much am I but this book was just that damned good!!

Amazon Summary:
Josie’s come a long way from being an average human chick who just wants to sex-up a vampire. She’s dated, mated, and killed one of the world’s richest vamps and is currently seeing a mysterious, blood-slurping hottie named Walker.

Now, Josie must adjust to the realities of a steady relationship with a vampire, which isn’t all exciting parties, hot sex and moonlit walks. And with a vamp who’s anxious to push their relationship to the next phase as mortality bears down on his human’s fragile body, the pressure for Josie to commit is on.

Can their night-day romance survive leaving Josie’s character and individuality intact, or will the secrets of the supernatural community crush her spirit and her chance at a permanent vampire mate?

*Title is a 140-page novella.

WARNING: This is not your regular paranormal romance. This series explores the realities (such as they might be) of humans having relationships with vampires and uses a chick lit style to get there. Oh yeah--and the characters within are fallible and not entirely heroic.

Review:
I have been aching to read this book since I read the first book. It felt so good to enter the lives of Josie and Walker(sigh I so love him). I was like a kid in a candy store when I started this book today and I didn't stop(okay once to get a drink)until I was done.

This book picked up where we left off. Josie and Walker heading to Texas where he called home.
Talk about a stark contrast to where she lived, basically she went for suburban Florida to put it mildly deep in the county including an airstream trailer. I couldn't help but laugh as Josie tried to adjust to her new surroundings as well as try and figure out what kind of relationship she and Walker had.

I don't want to give too much away, but we are introduced to Were's in this book,(snicker) and wait to you see what kind of were Harry(Walker's friend)is. All I can say its very unique and that is exactly what I love about Evelyn's books.

Only thing I wish is that the book was a bit longer, I could have kept reading all night with these characters and storyline. The ending left me with a smile on my face and wanting more. So Evelyn please write faster.

If you loved the first book then I definitely think you will enjoy this one.

CBLS Promotions Guest Post with Roz Lee Author of Four of Hearts

Life Changing Moments

We’ve all had them, those moments in time when something happens to change the course of our lives.Sometimes it’s big, and unforgettable – the day you met the love of your life, holding your children for the first time, a tragic accident, the death of someone dear. I have a number of those in my life, the day I married the love of my life some thirty-three years ago, the birth of my wonderfully fabulous daughters, the day my father died, and the day I opened an email and found an offer to publish my book, THE LUST BOAT. All of these changed my life in unexpected ways.

As a society there are the moments common to us all, the ones where we can all answer the question, “Where were you when?” Do you remember where you were, what you were doing on Sept.11, 2001? I was watching the news, getting ready to roust my girls for school. Less than a year earlier, I’d sat in the plaza of the World Trade Center, eating hot dogs from a street vendor with my youngest daughter. I remembered the almost electric energy in the air as we sat there in the midst of New York’s financial district, and mourned the loss of such a vibrant place, and the lives that made it so.

Sometimes the moments are small, almost insignificant at the time they happen – the class you signed up for that inspired you to change direction in life, the book you picked up at the airport so you would have something to read on the plane that inspired you, the short-cut you decided to take that landed you in the middle of a traffic accident. Mostly, we never know the impact these chance decisions have on our life. What would have happened had we turned left instead of right? What if we’d had a different teacher, one who was less involved? Nevertheless, these also have the power to change our lives.

Maybe it was a gift you received that brought about change. I read a story once about a woman whose husband gave her a horse for Christmas. It opened up a new life for her and her family. They ended up moving to a new state and opening up a riding academy. Or how about the child who is given a paint set and discovers a talent that will define them for the rest of their life?

Some things change our life for a brief period of time, others alter it forever, and the beauty is, we never know when one of these things will come along.

In the fourth book in my Lothario Series, FOUR OF HEARTS, a gift request is the catalyst that changes the lives of four people. When Candace asks Ryan to tie her up for their one-year anniversary, she has no idea how the gift will change their lives. Unable to deny his wife anything, Ryan goes to their best friends, Richard and Fallon, for help, a decision that opens the door to a love they can’t ignore.

FOUR OF HEARTS is a story of a love so profound it will survive every obstacle thrown in its way. So, come aboard, and set sail on another Lothario adventure!

BLURB:

Marriage hasn’t tamed Candace Callahan’s sexual curiosity, something her husband Ryan is grateful for, but when she asks him to tie her up for her anniversary present, he knows he’s going to need the help of their friends, Richard Wolfe and his wife, Fallon.

Dr. Fallon Enright is the resident sex therapist aboard the Lothario -the cruise ship co-owned by her husband and Ryan Callahan. When Ryan asks to participate in one of their couple’s rope bondage classes, Richard isn’t sure it’s a good idea, but Fallon assures him all will be well.

What begins as innocent curiosity, blossoms into a polyamorous relationship none of them could have expected, but they are powerless to ignore. When the tabloids expose their new lifestyle, the foursome must choose between the love they feel for each other, or accepting society’s moral constraints.

EXCERPT:

Ryan froze with his lips against the pulse in Candace’s neck. His erection surged with new vigor against her stomach. Why couldn’t his wife ask for something easy for their anniversary? Something like diamonds, a villa in France, hell, even an expedition to the North Pole. The image in his brain coalesced, and he knew he would give her whatever she wanted.

“You want me to tie you up?” he asked as soon as he found his voice.

“Don’t even try to tell me it doesn’t excite you.” Candace wiggled her soft mound against his cock. “I felt that.”

He had no intention of denying his interest. Only a fool would, and Ryan Callahan was no fool. He continued his exploration of his wife’s creamy soft skin, all the while forming and reforming the new image in his head. His lips left her neck, slipped to her shoulder where he tasted every inch of skin, before angling lower toward the perfect swell of her breasts. His hands held hers pinned flat on either side of her head. He’d tied her hands once, when he’d spirited her away from the Lothario and onto the Vixen, but that had been role-playing more than anything else. He was pretty sure she had something more in mind. He hoped to God she did.

Her request shouldn’t have been a surprise. She’d spent a lot of time lately talking to his best friend’s wife. Rope bondage was Fallon’s new research topic, and a passion shared with her husband Richard. Ryan inched his way lower, and teased one nipple to a marble hard peak with his tongue, before taking it in his mouth. Candace drew in a sharp breath and arched her back, encouraging him to suck harder. He obliged his wife.

His wife. The moniker still sent a thrill through his body every time he thought, or said the word. Candace Callahan. His wife. God, what a wondrous thing that was. For nearly a year, she’d been his constant companion, his lover, his…everything. Before he met Candace, he’d been lost and alone, searching for something he couldn’t name. Now it had a name. Love.

“Well?” Candace prodded on a gasp as Ryan switched breasts, sucking the poor, neglected one in his mouth without preamble.

Surely, she knew the answer. He couldn’t deny her anything. Still, he made her wait for his reply. It wasn’t as if he hadn’t given it any thought himself. There wasn’t much he hadn’t imagined doing with Candace.

He released her hands and slid lower until he lay pillowed between her thighs. He brushed his thumbs over the neatly trimmed auburn triangle that drew him like a compass needle to magnetic north. The scent of her arousal filled his nostrils and fueled a primal need. He swept his tongue through her juices. She ground her swollen flesh against his face, and he knew she’d forgotten everything but this. He dedicated himself to keeping the status quo for the foreseeable future.

Please Give A Warm Welcome to Linda, BLH's newest reviewer

Hi everyone! I’m Linda, the newest addition Book Lover's Hideaway.

Proud to be a blind-without-her-glasses book nerd with a serious chocolate addition. Currently trying to find herself in this crazy world. Certified Mind Ninja and Queen of the Procrastinators.

I belong to the places I’ve grown up and family traditions. I represent los libros in Spanish and the Libras of October. Books have also gained a very important spot on my life list.

I’ve grown up loving books. That came pretty naturally. My school library became the most sacred place, where I could step out of reality and into whole other world. You couldn’t find me without a much-loved book in hand. Now I'm currently obsessing over my kindle (when my friends aren't dragging me off to their latest adventure)!

I'm so excited to start reviewing here and I hope to make a lot more book-addicted friends!

Thanks Linda! Stay tuned for her reviews in the upcoming weeks....

The BSP tours Review of Cherished by Belinda Boring

Blurb:

For a moment, Darcy almost convinced herself the last twelve hours didn’t happen. As image after image hits her, the sinking realization of all she’s lost overwhelms her and all she can think of is to run. Run far away where her shame can’t find her, and most of all, where she’ll never have to see the look of blame in Mason’s eyes. Feeling like a complete failure, she scrambles to make plans. But the voice of her mate-to-be penetrates her frantic thoughts, asking for the chance to show her just how much she is loved.

It hurts Mason deeply to hear Darcy’s thoughts, knowing the events of the previous night have completely rattled her. Grieving over the death of his beloved sister Jasmine, Mason knows he has to act fast. Darcy is all he’s ever wanted and the idea of life without her is unacceptable. Armed with his unswerving love and wolfish charm, he sets out to remind Darcy just how valuable she is and why there is no one else for him but her.

Can Darcy let go of the shame of failure consuming her or will Mason convince her that after all is said and done, she truly is… Cherished?

Review:
I didn't think it could get any better than Without Mercy but I was wrong. First of all, I will groan just a moment ending it the way she did. I really wanted to keep on reading and find out what is going to happen with Devin and how did Gary get the Vampire blood. I guess I have to wait for Blood Oath to find these answers.. Write faster! Belinda I beg you.

Anyway, now that I got the begging out of the way. I remember what I loved about Darcy and Mason 'sigh' what a romantic couple they are. Can I just say where can I find an alpha like Mason? I loved how he comforted her but in typical alpha fashion wouldn't at first let Darcy return the favor.

This short story had me in tears, yes I admit it tears in my eyes(okay maybe I am a sap) but I could truly feel Darcy's pain and guilt over Jasmine. But this book not only had sad tearful moments but it is  mixed with a perfect blend of playfulness and oh so steamy moments. Belinda surely can write some kissing scenes wow! if I was either one of these characters I am not sure I could hold back :).

This was an excellent continuation to this series and I so can't wait for Blood Oath. I need it now LOL. okay not now, but as soon as she can get it written. If you haven't read Without Mercy then what are you waiting for, if you have then Cherished is as good if not better than Without Mercy(if that is even possible).

Book Excerpt One:

A gun shot broke the silence and drug me screaming through the choking darkness. Gasping for breath, frantically seeking for something to cling to, I faltered for a moment when I found the space beside me empty. I struggled to focus, my hands restlessly moving about, but there was nothing. That’s when the terror began to pull me back under.

Flashes of images so shocking fired rapidly at me. They were jumbled at first, but slowly they began to make sense and it came with a gut wrenching pain that stole my breath. Suddenly my ears were filled with the fury laden howl of a wolf. My wolf. She was furious and in no way consolable. The nightmare had triggered memories in her also.

My heart raced, beating hard against my chest and I let out a strangled whimper as I fought to regain control. Closing my eyes, I tried to block out the thoughts bombarding me as the events of the night began to replay themselves. Without realizing, I started to rock back and forth.

Jasmine. Beautiful, sweet, perfect Jasmine. Gone, and it was all my fault. It was my stubborn pride—thinking I could protect us that had led to the fateful encounter. It was because of my inability to act that I couldn’t stop him from stealing her from me.

Bile rose in my throat, bringing with it a taste that caused my wolf to suddenly stop her howling. A new feeling surged through me, one of triumph and a strong sense of retribution. She was pleased with her part in the evening and I couldn’t help the shudders that overtook my body as I connected the unique flavor filling my mouth.

Flesh and blood. His. I couldn’t hide away from the small sense of satisfaction I felt. Even though I hadn’t been able to take care of it, she had. She’d taken a firm hold of the situation, pushed me into the background and hunted the monster down. Without mercy. Without hesitation.

Tearing him limb from limb until he was unrecognizable, she refused to give back control, adamant she was the only way to keep us safe. Looking down at my body as it nestled under piles of soft, warm blankets, I strained to remember how I managed to convince her to release me.

A name whispered in my mind and my muscles instantly relaxed as if the mere mention of him was enough to ease the tension. Mason. He had come and his help had restored me. He’d seen the devastation, how I’d failed him and still he had patiently been there. Shame pounded into me. How could I possibly look him in the eye again, knowing I cost him his beloved sister? Sure, he brought me back, but that was more the duty of an Alpha, and I doubt he would still want to mate with me.

Just the idea of never completing the bond stirred up fear and an agony so acute, tears began to stream done my face. I pulled my knees up into my chest and hugged them, continuing my steady rocking.

What am I going to do?
