Kelly's Topic Thursday
Here we are at another Topic Thursday. By this time next week, Valentine's Day will have come and gone. I'm assuming that we're all romantics since we read that genre until our eyes are red and swollen right? Some of us are happily in love, others are not but remain hopeful. So let me ask you this: Is Valentine's Day a real holiday to you? Is it a gifting holiday?
I remember when I was younger, a lot of the girls at my work would get flowers from their loved ones and I would NAG my husband to send me something just so I could be equal. But if you have to ask for it, does it count? I always wanted him to do something special, but not because I needed him to do something to show me he cared, but ony to show OTHER people he cared. Now that I'm older and wiser, now I truly could care less. Every once in a while, I'll see a story that I think is sweet and romantic on Valentine's Day, but for the most part, it's just another day on the calendar for me.
However, on the off chance that my husband should see this and should want to surprise me with something really cool? An Amazon or Barnes and Noble GC would be FABULOUS! ::wink, wink::

LOL my ex used to stop by work with roses and a big balloon - I loved that. But now I'm single- I am just going to curl up with one of my book boyfriends and live vicariously through them and I don't mind. Happy Valentine's Day to you all.
Happy Valentines Day girls! Hubby and I don't usually do the gift thing on holidays. We do like to use Valentines as an excuse to get one of those boxes of chocolate samplers, though. Why waste that kind of opportunity? :)
I know this is probably horrible to say but I could care less about V-day. I know GASP. I keep telling the hubs to stop wasting money on the flowers and just take me to buy a book! :)
Happy V-day to you all though. I hope you get the gift card, Kelly!
LOL I know, I don't anymore, I rather get a book. I don't have no one but right now I like it that way til my son graduates then maybe.
My ex would bring flowers home. I remember he woke up early before me and bought flowers, so that when I woke up, they were sitting on the kitchen table. And inside the card would be BN GC. LOL. I think it would've been nice to have something delivered at work. And red roses are so cliche. He would get me hybrids. I miss that. Not him, though. LOL
LOL I know , don't miss mine either
Happy Valentines Day. I actually married my sweetheart on February 14th so we try to do something special. Doesn't have to be big and fancy because he basically rocks my world every day of the year. Just a nice day to pause and smile :)
