Concept: “Ethan Thomas has spent years alone --forever trapped between worlds. Once a soldier in the Civil War, he’s now a ghost bound to a chaise lounge that once belonged to him. He’s spent centuries lingering in Savannah, Georgia, waiting to be saved…
Cassandra Cole is an interior designer hired to restore an old Victorian home. As she begins to furnish the house, strange happenings erupt around her. She suspects the house is haunted. Determined to find out, Cassie sets out to discover who the ghost is, why she feels a connection to him, and what she has to do to free him. The answers will surprise her in ways she never imagined.”
Review: This is a novelette of the erotic version and as I’m saying it again, it has to be difficult as an author to pack a good story punch into 60 pages or less. Thankfully, my new favorite author Stacey Kennedy does just that. This story is a classic ghost story in most ways. You know, in an old home, a young woman takes off her top while something spooky looks on. Yup, that happens here, but you are treated to the ghost’s version as well as the young woman’s. It turns into a story that could be titled “You’ve Got Ghosts.” The young woman, wanting to meet this ghost of hers, hooks up with a clairvoyant who helps her take her ghost over to the other side, but not before the ghost and the young woman are treated to a memorable love scene and one that honestly choked me up just a little. Yeah, me.
There’s eroticism of the truest form in this book, there’s a good ghost story, and a good lust story as well. Again, in my reader’s eyes, Ms. Kennedy can do no wrong.
What I liked: Something that Ms. Kennedy seems to sneak into most of her books, her endearing sense of humor. While providing what would be common sense scenes in this book, her sense of humor is something uncommon and delightful.
What I disliked: Taking this story for what it is, a short erotic story, it is perfection. There’s nothing I didn’t like.
My rating: 5 feathers
