BLB Tour Author Interview with Amber Argyle

I would like to thank Amber for taking the time to answer a few questions.

BLH: When did you begin Writing?
I started my first novel in the sixth grade. It was about mermaids and the lost city of Atlantis.

BLH: Who is your mentor?
David Farland is the closest thing I have to a mentor. Mostly, I have my beta readers and writer friends. Who do you look up too? Shannon Hale.

BLH: What is your reading pleasure?
I love to read YA fantasy, urban fantasy (thought it’s getting a little predictable), and dystopian.

BLH: If you have any favorite authors, who are they and why?
I absolutely love Shannon Hale and Kristin Cashore. Let’s face it, the girls can write and write well. I also like Brandon Mull, Tolkien, David Farland, Jessica Day George, Clare B Dunkle, Jennifer Roberson, Suzanne Collins, Clare B Dunkle, and Robin McKinley. I could probably go on forever.

BLH: What part of the writing process do you love ? What part do you hate?
I’m really hating how much marketing and editing is taking me away from my first love, creating stories.

BLH: If you could write outside your genre what would that be?
I actually have some works that are outside of YA fantasy. One thriller and some adult fantasy.

BLH: How did you come up with your premise for your books?
Dreams, phrases that circulate in my head, scenes that I build the story around, etc.

BLH: What is scene is easier to write? Harder?
The easiest for me is usually the ending. The hardest is the beginning.

BLH: If you could write with anyone who would that be and why?
See #4 for list of favorite authors. J

BLH: What would you like to say to your readers?
We’re still accepting names from book bloggers interested in reviewing an eBook on their blog. http://amberargyle.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html
