Amazon Summary:
After living on the streets of New York City for over a decade, Logan Ellis admits her perceptions might be a little skewed. But twisted or not, there’s a satisfying irony in watching a well dressed vampire stand in the middle of a ghetto alley, windblown trash scraping small circles near his feet. What she finds even more intriguing, is waiting for him to decide whether or not he’s going to kill her.

Kerestyan Nelek hasn’t quite made up his mind. As the Lord of New York, he can’t allow a homeless drug addict, whose memories are packed with knowledge of vampiric existence, to run free in his city. It’s not the first time he’s been in this situation with a human, it’s just the first time in thousands of years he’s come face to face with one who doesn’t seem to care. And that’s what makes the decision so damn difficult.

What horrors would you have to witness before you went numb? How many years would it take for you to feel that way? What would it take to make you care again?

Logan’s answers are simple: the worst humanity has to offer, almost thirty…and something she never expected.

Review:
I have a new series I can obsess over, This book was amazing. Where to start is the question with this review to do this book justice. Well for one the heroine was nothing like I have ever read before. I have read plenty with deep personal issues but never one that was so disconnected from the world around her and two a drug addict.

And though I never experienced drug addiction personally, Jennifer portrayed Logan with such depth I could feel even if Logan couldn't . Though Logan was detached from everything and everyone I loved her sense of humor. Most of you know that is one thing I love- sarcasm and she had it. Odin is another fave I loved the banter between these two.

I also loved her take on vampires, I honestly haven't thought of many more ways you could write vampires and if I did I thought I read them all but this had an unique twist which I throughly enjoyed.

The storyline flowed well and found myself not wanting to stop after 2 really late nights I finished and I am so eager to read the next in this series. One thing I hope is that Odin will get his own book I just love him.

Would I recommend? A resounding yes, I would shout out at the mountains you must read this one. It has all a vampire lover would like, romance(might I add the steamy scenes were smoking hot) sarcastic humor, action and much much more. And I might add I will be reading more of Jennifer Turner's books, she has a new fan here.

About The Author:

Jennifer Turner lives in Bowling Green, Ohio, with her husband, nine year old daughter and one fish. She regularly claims one of the aforementioned takes far more work than the others to maintain - but she won't share which one. She's the middle child between two brothers, the favorite child of her parents. Of course, that's always subject to opinion. She currently has the first three books of the Darkness Within series completed and is working on the fourth.
